  • This is kind of exciting...for me, anyway!

OK, I'm a seventies rock fan,and Three Dog Night is performing on the 30th at our Coastal Carolina Fair!
Now, I'm going to do as I usually do, which is hope for the best and expect the worst. I've heard the Beach Boys, and I am no longer impressed by them. On the other hand, I saw Sir Elton John last year (for free at the last minute - what a treat!!!) and he did NOT disappoint! Have any of you heard TDN lately? How are they holding up? I only have one of their CD's, Suitable for Framing, but I grew up listening to them and they always bring back memories.....
Anyway, I'm going with my old and dear ex-roomie, and I'm looking forward to it!

From 1969-1974, nobody had more Top 10 hits, moved more records, or sold more concert tickets. In 2008 THREE DOG NIGHT continues to top the list of artists with the best Billboard Top 100 Chart average!

During this period Three Dog Night was undoubtedly the most popular band in America with twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits and twelve straight gold LPs. By late '75, they had sold nearly 50 million records.

The show goes on... Since 1986, Three Dog Night has toured extensively. Their records continue to sell in great numbers and they receive regular airplay on radio stations around the world.

THREE DOG NIGHT maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 80 dates a year. Their well-loved hits, delivered in their unmistakable style, are performed for audiences spanning generations, by founding members Cory Wells and Danny Hutton on lead vocals, as well as original keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon and guitarist Michael Allsup. Paul Kingery (bass and vocals) and Pat Bautz (drums) complete the lineup.

I love 3 Dog Night - I heard one of their concerts years ago as they were playing at a stadium attached to a fair I was attending. They sounded great. Let me know how they have held up

OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH I would SOOOOOOOO love to see that show!!! I have no idea how they are doing these days but WHAT A BLAST FOR MY PAST!!!

We saw TDN in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in 1973. They were absolutely fantastic and are one of my favourite bands to this day. They are even on my Ipod!! It was the first time I experienced the 'holding up the 'lighted lighter' phenomenon. It looked like the arena was lit by candles.

So, sorry, don't know how they've held up, but envy you the chance to find out.

Crabby: hubby and I went to see 3 Dog Night about 4 years ago. We were invited to go along with another couple, they had tickets, DH and I were thinking, 'hmmmm, 3 Dog must be quite old now, haven't heard nothing about them, do they still play'? Well, it turned out to be one of the best concerts we've been to! We were very impressed, the band was just right on! Hopefully, you will have a good experience as well. Enjoy!

Thanks for the complement Crabby, but back in 1973 I was ummmmm well, let's just say that I was old enough to vote and almost old enough to 'legally' drink in the US.

Sounds like SUPER fun!! LOVE seeing groups that send me down memory lane. One of my faves from the 60s-70s, Leon Russell, plays here at a tiny theater several times a year!

Got to see 3dognite in concert back in the early 80's. Rolling Stones can still rock surely TDN can too!! Let us know how it is.
BTW, we had Styx in a benefit concert here a couple of weeks ago & they still rock too!
(however found out after that the English guy is not the original band member)

I saw Three Dog Night in college, too! It was soooooo much fun.

Also saw Chicago and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. I think I must have still been in the womb!
