Police 'spot checks'

We went through the first R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Christmas spot check today. It was mid-afternoon. Good to know that the police are out there at anytime of the day/night checking for drinking drivers. I did think it was a bit early to start the 'festive season' campaign tho'

Do they stop and check every car?

I just read a tiny blurb on the 'net this morning about Purell hand sanitizer mucking up breathalizer tests... so I'm guessing ya gotta DRINK the Purell??? Yikes!!

They're probably just letting the rookies practice. They do it everywhere BEFORE the season gets heavy.
They do it here too.

I'm glad. Wards off drunk drivers even earlier. Suits me!

Just my two cents worth ... it's NEVER too early to get the impaired driver off the street! Hooray for those law enforcement officers. Hope your streets and roads are a few drivers "lighter".
