  • Leg cramp - that still hurts !

I fell down Monday night but except for exercising, am doing everything as usual (in sneakers). I got a severly scraped knee that I am Neosporning twice a day, and some bruises, but nothing broken (this time; I've broken my foot three times) !

And this morning, before I was really awake, I got a severe leg cramp - in the boo-boo leg - and it hurt of course - but that part of the leg (the calf) even several hours later, still bothers
    me !

And darned if a dumb-dumb man didn't barrel into me as I exited the subway!

    Some days ....................

Maybe it was a charlie horse. Those darn things will hurt like the devil and still be sore hours later.

      Be careful!

Next time you get a leg cramp then pinch the fold of skin under your nose above your mouth. Applying pressure there can relieve the cramp.

Also, eat more bananas - the potassium will help prevent the cramps as well.

            Seriously about the pinching thing?
            Interesting.
            Never heard that.

Yes, the pinching thing really works. A friend of mine looked into acupuncture and that is one of the pressure points that affects the legs. You do have to pinch very hard and make sure you get that whole area under the nose

Rube's right on both accounts. The skin pinching is a reflexology triger point, and potassium helps the muscular structure. Thanks for the insight, Rube! Laura

My DH gets leg cramps sometimes. I can't wait to pinch under his nose.

DH and I take a homeopathic product called Hyland's Cell Salts #8 Mag. Phos. 6X whenever we get any kind of muscle cramps. It just works, and you can get it in about any health food store.

If it doesn't work for you, please don't sue me!

did you say you've seen your Dr. about this?

Could it be a circulation thing?

Cramps due to circulation problems usually occur right after or during leg exercise, such as walking. Then when you stop, the cramp lets up.

I've read that menopause causes some leg cramps(Charlie Horses). I know mine started after that, had to jump up out of bed & straighten out my foot! Very irritating, hope yours goes away soon.

My Step Son taught me to tap my foot on the floor over and over till the cramp goes away. It's painful but so is the cramp but it works for me.
