Does anyone here take these? Have you noticed a difference? I used to take it years back for a bothersome hip, and yes, I can say it did help me,,,since then , no hip pain, a fluke maybe? who knows. Anyways, I was telling my DS about it, he has a bad knee, and back probs, thought he might benefit from taking glucosamine. I think that I will start taking it again myself as all these new pains keep cropping up.

Re: Glucosamine supplements
DH has taken this for a couple of years for his knee (he had major surgery) and he swears by it. DS has back problems and started taking it and it's helped him, too. You do have to take it for a while before it starts to help.
We give a pet glucosamine supplement to our older dog (16) for her joints, too, so I guess it's a family thing!

Re: Glucosamine supplements
What brands are good ones? Babe would benefit from these, I'm sure... but he has a precarious digestive system (he's kind of a hypochondriac sometimes) and wouldn't keep 'em up if they had any kinds of side effects.
I think I'd benefit too, actually!!"What fresh hell is this?" Dorothy Parker

Re: Glucosamine supplements
I take the Osteo Bi Flex kind, Dr. recommended it for my arthritis in my knees, it may help some, but I still have some pain.DH takes it too. I have told my sons when they reach 30, they should start taking it to ward off any future problems.

Re: Glucosamine supplements
Wellsms, DH took the Osteo Bi-Flex for a long time, too. Then he found out from the Ortho Dr. that the BJ's brand had exactly the same ingredients and same strength and was a bit less expensive. Do you have BJ's in your area?

Re: Glucosamine supplements
Our dog tore her ACL a few years back. Even after the surgery, she would hold up her leg and not put her weight on it. The glucosamine led to a great improvement in about a week. We now give her glucosamine and chondroitin.
