  • Empire Carpet?

Has anyone bought from Empire Carpet? We had the guy come to our house last night and give us an estimate...but I just am still not sure about the quality and price. Anyone have any experience with them?

    Re: Empire Carpet?

I was thinking about Empire Carpet too... but if I seem to remember a thread saying their quality was not good and the installation not up to par... don't remember if it was here on CK or not.

Life is all about a$$; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, behaving like one, or you live with one.

I have never bought from Empire but we are thinking about buying some inexpensive carpet from Home depot for our basement. Has anyone ever bought carpet from Home Depot?

I have not bought from Home Depot but a friend did. Home Deport had to come back 3 times to get the wall to wall right.
My husband ran his own construction company when we lived in PA. He use to order carpet from Dalton, GA you can get all the name brands. But you need someone to install and folks to help get the carpet off the freight truck. It was quite a savings even for 1st quality.

10 years ago when I was looking at houses the Real Estate lady said to check out Dalton, Ga. for carpet.

              Re: Empire Carpet?

I have bought carpet from Dalton Georgia before and was very happy with it. At that time the carpet layer worked with a trucking company that let the carpet be delivered to their dock. If you are ordering a large amount it is almost impossible to have it delivered to your house because the rolls are too heavy to handle with out the proper equipment.

Well, we're still sitting on it...he quoted us $1134 to do our small family room....DH thought it was a tad much...but said if the quality was good and the installation we should go ahead and get it.....so I'm still holding out to see if anyone else has good things to say about Empire.

                  Re: Empire Carpet?

why don't you get another bid on the carpet and see what they quote you. commercial carpet lasts a long time, it is dense, but does not do well on stairs, harder to bend on the stairs.

I haven't dealt with Empire, but ordered carpet from Home Depot and they sent the wrong carpet twice.

                      Re: Empire Carpet?

I got another quote and it was $100 cheaper (from a local carpet guy.) However, he doesn't move all of your furniture out of your room like Empire....therefore I'd say it's probably a fair price if the carpet is good quality.
