Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
I just did a quick Google of bioidentical hormone therapy and was not really impressed with the articles I read. Sounds like it could be a lot of 'snake oil' sold by slick operators.
I could be totally wrong, of course, but how about trying the homeopathic route--black cohosh, evening primrose, soy products--tofu, soy milk--exercise, yoga...
I know that soy products (which contain natural estrogen) really helped me. The effect is (unfortunately) cumulative, not immediate, but at least it won't make you any worse.Communicate. It can't make things any worse!

Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
Well, try whatever you think is best, but you just got to do it, like it or not. There is no easy cure for this. Everyone is different. I wish you the best. I just did it on my own, glad I had an understanding husband. Don't wish that on anyone. I think I am over it but I still get bi***y but I think that just may be my personality.

Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
I know of a situation that they went to Dr. got hormone pills, my friend's sister, did that well she died, it was so bad,and her husband sued the hospital & Dr. got over a million in the lawsuit Well, he is living fine and she is dead. She had brain & all cancer, those hormone pills please don't take them. Yes, they are good to get you threw it but really do it on your own. Don't take those pills. You got to just do it and be a bit*ch. Oh they got the happy with mentapause but really just do it no drugs. There is so much stuff out there with the Drs. please just do the natural way. There are side effects with all that crap.

Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
For years I took estrogen as my doctor said. Got the scare in me & stopped.
My husband is COO of a natural products company. I started taking a natural hormone replacement that worked just as well. In the States the natural products store I would recommend is GNC. I think they carry a menopause formula created by Lorna Vanderhaeghe, B.Sc., for the reduction of hot flashes, night sweats and the symptoms related to menopause. That's what I took.

Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
I'm always curious about this... casue my "monthlies" have been gone for 1.5 years... so I'm definitely IN menopause...
About 2 years ago, I started having hot flashes, but not bad at all... I still have them occasionally, but they're not bad ... really.
I don't sleep as well as I used to, but don't have night sweats.
Do I have worse to look forward to? Cause I sort of feel like I'm skating thru it!"What fresh hell is this?" Dorothy Parker

Re: The dreaded *menapause*...
A few years back, I just thought I had hot flashes! LOL!
This past year I have experienced the Big Kahuna of Menopause with all symptoms in High Definition! Especially the hot flashes and my mood swings!!! The latter became so awful that I broke down and purchased over the counter...Estroven MAXIMUM Strength! I was amazed that they have actually helped with all the symptoms. It contains a lot of B-vitamins, Black Cohosh and soy, and while it takes awhile to get in your system, I have found relief by using it.
Good Luck! You are definitely not alone....Have you made time to listen to the birds today........
