  • Bra Fitting

Has anybody ever had their bra fitted in a store? I've seen advertisements for years about fitters in department stores and have almost been tempted to try it. But never have. Just wondering if any of you all have had it done, and if the fitter found that you were a different size from what you'd normally pick to wear.

No, I haven't, but I do see advertisements that they will do it at JCPenney and something like 80% of women wear the wrong bra size.
I HATE BRAS!! THEY BIND AND THEY CUT AND THEY ARE LIKE WEARING A STRAIGHT JACKET!!

Honestly I'd love to have the resaults of a fitting, but I don't think I could handle the process. I like privacy when it comes to changing & I sure don't want some stranger in there with me messuring and fitting me with a bra.

        Do it

It is worth it. I am very modist so not really comfortable at first but now I go in every year and get fitted. It makes such a difference on how clothes fit if your bra fits well. Ask at most department stores. So I say, every women should DO IT.

lol chop, that's one of my main problems there are no stores any where around here that carry my size bra. The largest cup size any stores carry here is DD, and that aint even close to what I wear. I have to special order my bras and it's hard to know how they are going to fit until you get them.

I was measured this year in the Uk I was wearing a 36dd at the time. The saleslady never came even near me with a tape measure...it was just eyeballing. Well the long and short of it is I'm a 36F.....

Now I can get these size easily...actually they carried up to a " H " in stock...gorgeous bras,,,,wonderful colours and VERY reasonable prices in the UK. ( even in a supermarket!!!!!!) Now here in the US...where boob inplants are so common....you have to special order EVERYTHING...AND they are expensive.

But hey I found www.figleaves.com/usa they have some really good bras...not cheap but really awkward sizes in stock.

I got fitted a couple weeks ago. The clerk said you need a 38DD, I laughed in her face. After trying on the DD, she said, you are right. Turned out I needed a 38C, which was actually a little big, so I bought a Playtex 38 nearly C. She just kind of looked at me, shook her head and said now I know why you laughed at me, and I said, I've been flat chested all my life. This old bra has some good padding and up lift to it LOL.

It is worth going in for a fitting. Playtex has a website that has instructions for measuring and you can order even their hard to find sizes.

I got fitted at VS....BUT I think the preggo chick that did it, had to of included herself in the measurement because there's no way I'd ever fit in a 38D like she said was my size! I ended up just grabbing a bunch of different sizes & trying them on and finally found the right one....38D was nooooooooooo where near the right size

I think it is worth while. I have done it a couple times. What a difference the right fitting bra makes. Problem is that the sizes may vary from maufacturer to manufacturer.

Never had a professional fitting and to be honest, not sure I ever will. I just tried a new brand for me and decided I really like it and will probably buy more.

I got a Playtex Secrets 18-Hour with Gel straps. Very nice fit and support and extremely comfy.

It is absolutely worth going for a fitting. The rule of thumb is: measure your chest just below your breasts. Then measure your breasts at their fullest point (for those of us who tend to 'hang' a touch, do this while wearing your regular bra.) Compare the two measurements. 1 inch difference is an A cup, two inches is a B and so on. The whole thing is that a professional can point you to a better fitting and more comfortable bra. You don't have to buy it--just try it on and see how you feel and look.
Communicate. It can't make things any worse!
