Crossing fingers here too. I rarely printed them out cause they were always right there!
I hope we can at least get into the old site at some point to copy some for our personal files at least if they cant be transferred.
Fingers, toes, eyes etc ...crossed here and holding breath!!!!!
I am bummed big time, I had saved many to a folder in my favorites titled ...recipes and when I click on them now all I get is a white page, quess I can go delete those any time now! had sooo many I had plans to try.
I went to the store yesterday morning and they had a sale on overripe bananas. I quickly thought of Coll's Banana bread but when I went to find it I got a cannot find page message. Now what am I gonna do with all those bananas? I can't freeze them, I have no room in my freezer. Anyone have that one handy???
I remember someone posting that you could freeze banannas, even the ripe ones. They said they did it all of the time, especially when they were on sale, and wanted to use them for bananna bread. I've never done it, but, I thought it was worth trying some day.
Stephanie is working frantically with the board hosts to get ALL post and recipes into archive first and then the move will take place. It is a major task and I am sure it will happen in the next few days
I really don't know as Stephanie is moving them herself. I have volunteered to move them also if she needs help. I've done it several times in the past year so I am pretty familiar on how to do it - LOL.
Flutter..You can put your bananas in the freezer till you get the recipe. They will turn completely black on the peel, but they are fine. I do it all the time for banana bread and I use COLL's recipe too. Unfortunately, I always grab it out of the forum when I need it too. When you are ready to make the bread, just take out the bananas and cut off the end and squeeze the mushy banana out of the peel into your bowl. Works great and no mashing necessary.
apanda....I was shocked and skeptical the first time I froze banannas. They did turn black and were, of course, hard as a rock. But, after they thawed a bit, they were perfect for bread and muffins. I don't remember who first posted it, but, thank you.
