  • June 30th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is sunny with a somewhat hazy sky with the temperature of 86 for a high and 63 for a low.

I am solo tonight and think I will use the last of the sloppy joe and put in on a baked potato along with some cheese on top. Cantaloupe will finish the meal.

What will you have this evening?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

I had all my upper teeth pulled last week and I am still miserable so I asked my husband to please bring me a seedless watermelon for tonight. I hope it will just kind of dissolve if I cut it into small pieces. I’m really craving something fresh. Probably more soup for me too. DH will probably grab something he can just heat up. Fine dining at our house lol.

[email protected] - Ouch. I can't even imagine what you went through. Luckily, I haven't lost any and don't want to. I think soup and watermelon sounds pretty good.

I'm cooking less and less as the Coronavirus has us staying at home again. Some are calling it the second wave but it's more about some large family groups believing that the isolation rules don't include them! Supermarkets have empty shelves again and limits apply to some foods. Schools in certain areas are closed again thanks to those irresponsible people. On the news tonight they showed a police presence in their neighbourhood and if they attempt to leave their homes or invite visitors they will be heavily fined and arrested. In the meantime we are back to what it was like in March.

Dinner tonight... I had two sandwiches with tuna patties squashed on each; John had 4 scrambled eggs.
I really want a smoke detector that shuts off as soon as I shout…“I’M ONLY COOKING!!”

Chayote, Texas is also back with wearing a mask, it is mandatory now, restaurants are back to only 50% capacity, bars and gyms are closed again, no clue what is happening to summer school.
My daughter has decided to retire, she is / was a teacher, 33 years, signed her retirement papers this morning. And because of this darn virus we can't even have a retirement party for her.
Texas is blaming Memorial day weekend and phase one opening for the uptick in virus cases. But lets not put any blame on BLM protesters who marched for several days and nights , screaming and hollering their hearts out, most of them not wearing any masks, NO nobody can mention that.
Dinner ? Do we have to eat , just kidding, I think today it's going to be another delicious frozen TV dinner.

Here in WA we now have mandatory face covering and our county will not be moving into phase 3 anytime soon. Fortunately the people in our little town seem to be taking it all pretty seriously. I also believe all the close contact protests are a huge contributing factor in the uptick in cases. We’re prepared to keep doing the safe things we’ve been doing to stay healthy for as long as necessary.

Wow, last day of June, half the year is gone. Let’s hope the next half gets way better. It’s been a pleasant day today and my swollen face is so much better today. Tomorrow I see the ENT specialist.

We’re going to have the rest of the cream cheese chicken enchiladas and some watermelon for dinner.
