  • November 5th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

Yes, there is snow on the roof tops this morning. It is cold and overcast with the high of 49 and the low of 30.

We will have repeat of last night's dinner as it just tasted so good.

What is your dinner for tonight?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

I have Mississippi pot roast in the crock pot now. Roasted brussel sprouts and steamed cauliflower to go with. I woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I am ready for a nap now but I have to wait for hubs to pick up some paperwork first. I did take a nice long hot shower and put on some new jammies because its to cold to go anywhere today.

It is cold out muz. I just got back from running an errand, changed my clothes into something warmer as even my bones were cold. It is a damp cold that just soaks into the body. Stay warm!!

I love the Mississippi Pot Roast. I have been interested in trying that recipe using chicken one day soon. Dinner tonight is questionable. I have chicken and will likely make some chicken salad with it.

It started out really rainy this morning but it’s definitely cleared up quite a bit. I fixed a nice regulation breakfast and we went to Costco in Burlington. It was nice to see the Skagit River so full again, it was quite low during the summer. Costco was jam packed full today, made it kind of hard to navigate in there. I had a list and pretty much stuck to it for a change. We notice that over half the checkstands are now self-check, and neither one of us are fond of that, but the regular line we were in went pretty fast. We were both glad to get home and put our feet up.

We are having Amana Melange tonight. Ken will have the garlic shrimp and couscous and I will have the teriyaki meatball Orzo soup and we’ll get some things emptied out of the fridge.

I never thought I would like Mississippi pot roast because I hate those peppers. I had a jar in the pantry and tried it on a whim. I was shocked how tasty it is.

We had a busy day... John had a heart specialist appointment and then we just settled in to a night of TV and knitting.

Dinner was crumbed chicken ribs that I had in the freezer. I hate the mess of crumbing meat but they were worth the effort...

              I never thought the comment, "I wouldn't touch him/her with a 6' pole"
would become a National policy, but here we are...
