  • What do you serve

When it's so stinkin hot? I don't want to turn the oven on. Or ya just want something light.
so what's your list? I'm planning on a few things for next heat wave that's on its way.

Tuna, shrimp or chicken pasta salad
burgers & dogs on the grill.
    French toast / sausage
    Fried rice
    Spaghetti
I have a few skillet meals.
I'd just love to hear some new ideas

We like to have a lot of chicken caesar salads, store bought rotisserie chicken, or BBQ'd chicken
        BLT's
we make our own sub sandwiches
I call these cold plates: hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese cubes, pickles/olives, sliced deli meat, veggie sticks/dip
tuna or salmon on a bed of lettuce, sides of pickles/olives/cherry tomatoes
        ham/cheese mac salad
A balanced diet is a cookie in both hands

I almost always have the ingredients for a great salad. Bacon and tomato sandwich or even a quick omelet. Works.

Frequently I just eat a salad. Tonight I am goin to plug in the mini waffle iron and fix a couple of waffles for my meal. That sounds good to me right now. I’m almost out of the syrup so I will need to buy that soon.

Mudderbear, your cold plate is so similar to a charcuterie board, which I love and have fixed for appetizers. My granddaughter fixes " mini " charcuterie boards for a friend when they come for lunch. So many possibilities
and no cooking, perfect for hot weather.

I like a wedge salad on a day that it is really warm. I even will fix a quick breakfast meal.

Later in August, I am going to host a Sunday Sundae, Splits and Sips for our neighbors. A banana split sounds pretty good right now but I will wait. I will provide all the ice cream, drinks and paper/disposable goods. Neighbors can each bring a topping. This is a get together everyone will enjoy. I do have a motorized shake mixer that I haven't used in years. I may pull that out for shakes.
