  • August 11th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is a mostly cloudy sky at the moment with the high of 76 and the low of 58 with a chance of rain. Lower humidity is very welcome.

French toast, ham and DGS is asking for another peach smoothie. I will say they are good peaches and do taste good.

What will be your dinner tonight?

We are still making dinners out of what is in the fridge. John had curried sausages and a bake-at-home bread roll. I had a salad of lettuce, cucumber, pea shoots, avocado and catalina dressing. I had two bake-at-home rolls.

I've spent the day just tidying up loose ends ahead of our trip to Canberra. I needed to transfer our road service from Victoria to South Australia, book some accommodation and check with my sister that we can stay with them for a few days. We decided to drive to Canberra via Melbourne and that means we get to see Immy.
Effort only fully releases its rewards after a person refuses to quit.

Chayote I hope you and John have a smooth & pleasant trip.

It is a sunny day not a cloud to be seen. It is still a bit humid but much better. The grass reminds me of wading pools.
I'm making Monterey chicken. Use to get it at Bob Evans many yrs ago. I sorted out ingredients and made a reasonable copykat. It's grilled chicken breast with a long grain wild rice veggie medley.

Beautiful fresh day today!, may be a bit cool/breezy for a sit-at-the-beach afternoon
We woke up early to see our DS off on a 10 day fly-in fishing trip waaaaay the heck up north, his boss always books some sort of a fishing trip every summer for a few of his employees. This is the biggest one yet. Anyhoo, drive up is 13 hours then 1 hour 40 min fly in. They are 4 of them and only allowed 150 lbs of belongings per person. That was kinda tricky packing up!
So, just me and hubs for 10 days...dinner will be simple frozen veal cutlets, sour cream & chive noodles, and MORE green beans from the garden!

I think I have tomatoes and bacon and will make at least a half sandwich and cut up a peach for dinner. My appetite is still terrible.

You sound like me Mudder. I have another go round just about ready for picking so green beans will be on the menu again soon. They just are so good fresh, and DGS even helps pick them as he really likes them.

It’s a bit warmer today than yesterday but still very nice. I did not sleep well at all last night. I woke up about 3 times with horrible leg cramps and then had a terrible bout of acid reflux that kept me awake for a couple of hours. I took some antacids and my Prilosec for the reflux and took a few tablespoons of dill pickle juice for the cramps and finally went back to sleep. I got a haircut today and came home and took a nap for awhile. I certainly don’t need a repeat of that crummy night ever!

Dinner…I think I’ll make a cream cheese and pesto omelette and an English muffin tonight, something easy on the tummy (although I feel fine now).
