September 7th Dinner Post

Good Morning!

Wait, what is bright orb in the sky? Yes, it is the sun in a mostly sunny sky after 3 days of cloud cover. A prelude of the dark days of winter. It will be mostly sunny with the high of 76 and the low of 61 with the humidity gone.

Dinner will be potato and ham soup, garlic bread and plums.

What will you be having?

I don’t think I will want much this evening. My lunch was filling. Most likely I will crush some ice and fix a smoothie.

I’m looking online today for either a baby quilt pattern or Afghan pattern. My Granddaughter is expecting her first baby so naturally I want to make something for her baby. So far I haven’t found the perfect patterns to use.

Had to go to Muncie for an echo. Hit hobby lobby ***sigh*** they raised the prices. BOO

Picked up couple big Bufords, fries for Joe. I love love big bufords

Rosie - Is Big Bufords from Checkers? I see them advertise all the time but have never stopped. I think it is drive-thru only and not a sit down inside. I also have never stopped at a Sonic's either. Aren't the servers on roller skates and come to your car?

It’s been another beautiful day today, September is a pretty month in the Pacific Northwest. Yesterday was a crazy day, I went to the walk in clinic at Everett Clinic to get checked out because I’ve been having really bad swelling in my right leg and I was concerned that it might be a blood clot from the COVID vaccines. The doctor had me go to the ER at Cascade Hospital to get an ultrasound on my leg and possibly get an injection of blood thinner if needed. They didn’t find any sign of a clot, thank goodness, and the blood test I took to spot signs of one was negative too. They told me to keep my leg elevated whenever possible and to make sure I flex the muscles in my calf and to get some compression stockings. I ordered those on Amazon and will get them tomorrow and my right foot looks more normal than it has in a couple of weeks right now. It certainly eased my mind to get it checked out and I can see I need to make a few changes to things I’m doing in order to remain healthy. I mentioned to the doctor that I don’t think I’m going to get any more boosters and she agreed it would probably be best if I don’t. Better safe than sorry. I’m keeping this off Facebook, I don’t need my anti-vax family having a hissy fit about this since I’ve already taken care of the situation and I’m OK.

I’m going to have 2 more chiles rellanos for dinner.

I don't know anything about Big burfords hamburgers, but we have a Sonic drive thru here in town, actually several of them, and no they don't serve the food on roller skates, at least no there at our Sonic.
And the hamburgers are not that good, jmho. We also have checkers hamburger here in town and that's were we go to have a hamburger if the mood strikes us. And I love their onion rings.

Hi Vera big bufords are from rallys. Which Is I guess same as checkers. It's a drive thru or can go inside and order but no seating. I have been to sonic couple times but not a fan.

I know it can be too, that’s why I knew I needed to get it checked out ASAP. My health otherwise is very good, but this had me nervous for sure and I was relieved it wasn’t what I feared it was. I will start doing all the other things that I know I should be doing to stay that way. Getting old sucks!

Sabine - You had me at onion rings. I would get that instead of fries anytime. When Sonic advertises on TV, they show a girl on roller skates, but I have never witnessed them when I pass one. I think we only have one in our area which is probably 20 miles away.
Rosie - I think you are correct - Checkers is some parts of the country and Rallys in other parts but same company.

When I visited peabodyqp many years ago, we went to Sonic every day and the deliverers were wearing roller skates. I had previously thought that it only happened on the movies. It was fun and a happy memory I have when I was with Robin. I remember loving a watermelon semi-frozen drink I used to have there.
