So we went to this cruddy diner in the middle of no where. The food was not good except for one thing. We got an appetizer which was named Meatballs with peppers and oil. It was a breadbowl stuffed with meatballs and sauce and on top was this hot pepper salad. They peppers were hungarian hot peppers I think. They were shaved thin and tasted lightly pickled. Could it be as simple as putting vinegar and oil on hot peppers? I am not a pepper fan at all and I really dont like hot peppers but I could eat a quart of this stuff. Has anyone ever made anything like it?
