  • October 6th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is overcast a partly sunny sky and the high of 73 and the low of 47.

I have not made creamed eggs on toast, homemade bread, in years so that will be dinner along with sausage and applesauce.

    What will be your dinner?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

I have a pot roast with tons of veggies in the crockpot. The house smells so good. Its warm enough that I got to sit outside and enjoy the weather before it drops 20 degrees tomorrow. I wacked down all the sage and thyme in my trough and made some of those smudge sticks because I can only use so much sage. I filled the whole trough with garlic. I never grew garlic before, but they say now is the time to plant it.

I ordered a new dog crate because my beast knows how to open his. It got delivered today but I cant even get it in the house its so heavy, so hubs can do that when he gets home. Now I have to figure out where to put the old one since we are getting another dog around new years again.

Lovely warm day until about 9pm when it bucketed down with rain. It was fun while the sun lasted. We went out for a while... went to Miele and bought my new vacuum cleaner. Home Help starts on Tuesday and I needed to buy the vacuum before then. It was the last one of the model I chose that they had in stock. Nice to have an appliance that's not mass-produced in China...

From there we drove to a nearby address and picked up a purchase from eBay... a lovely Cabbage Patch girl and a Build-a-Bear with a nice outfit to join my collections. I've been restoring Julia's Cabbage Patch Kid that she had as a child. Her name is Sadie and she's looking good. Just need to thread new elastic through the puff sleeves on her dress and give her a knee replacement and she'll be ready to go home again.

Our dinner tonight was at Julia's house. We all had different food... John and I chose fish and I also had coleslaw.

Oops... almost forgot that it's garbage and recycling night so I'll go and put the bins at the kerb and then go to bed.

It's lovely here. 70 and sunny. Joe is power washing the house and he's not a happy camper. Looks a million times better. I hate that mold that gets on houses YUCK

I'm going to make a crustless pizza. I want pizza but can't chew. There's a salmon patty and sides if Joe would rather

It was so foggy this morning but it cleared up and it’s been pretty nice all day. I had my quarterly pest control visit today, glad they came because the spiders have been very active lately. I had to do some adjustments on my porch string lights, got control completely on my phone and took it off Ken’s phone. I switched them to orange for the rest of the month for Halloween. Steve let me know he made it back home this morning, I can’t imagine driving that hard anymore. I’m glad he made it safely though, I always worry about that.

I’m going to heat up the rest of the creamy tomato chicken and pasta tonight and have some Caesar salad with it.
