    Good Morning!

It is overcast and dreary along with the wind still going strong. It is making it feel bitter as it cuts into the body. Remember I am just the messenger, so this is not my doing. The high of 44 and the low of 37 along with pockets of snow and rain mixture off and on all day.

Dinner will be leftover soup from last night, the homemade bread will become garlic bread along with rice pudding.

    What will be your dinner?

I canned 6 quarts of chicken stock today. I haven't canned in probably 8 years so I was a bit nervous but it all worked out. Its hard to find canning jars now a days. None at the thrift stores so I had to buy new ones. I just made ham stock from all the bones stashed in the freezer so I will can navy bean soup tomorrow. I am really working on getting the freezer cleaned out. I should be able to order my cow in the next two weeks. Not sure what the prices are so it will be interesting.

Made egg roll bowls for dinner because it takes all of 15 min.

I made a Caesar salad tonight but I used bottled dressing and it was terrible. I will finish the lettuce tomorrow but will definitely use a different salad dressing.

It was down right ugly out this morning, thick haze, some fog mixed in and no sun. I had a 9:15 am doctor’s appointment, I had a few concerns to ask about and one of my main questions was should I get the latest COVID booster and my doctor agreed that I should, so I did. When I go to CA next month I’ll be with people that aren’t vaccinated, so I really wanted to get it done. After that I went to Costco and I’ve been bagging up all the Halloween candy this afternoon. I figure I’ll have at least 300 kids this year. Tomorrow I’m going to bag up a bunch of household hazardous waste and I’ll get it to the drop off site later this week. That will clear of some more garage shelves.

I’m going to heat up the last of the sweet potato casserole, asparagus and I’m going to fry up the last cube steak for dinner.

OMG, 300 kids, you have 300 kids in your immediate neighborhood ? Sounds like kids are being dropped off in your neighborhood to collect candy.

Well, a lot of them are being dropped off here because I’m on one of the safest streets in town. We have great street lighting, lots of homes participating and the kids can visit about a mile of homes and only have to cross the street once. Areas outside of the neighborhoods are very rural, few if any streetlights and the homes are far apart. We all happily participate in this and we all enjoy it. Ken had a great time passing out candy and playing meet and greet and he’d want me to do the same.

I always loved passing out candy and usually got around 220 plus and it has dropped off the last couple years. Last year I went over and helped a friend who lives on a street that gets around 300/400 and it is so much fun seeing the costumes and how adorable they are. Have fun!!!!!!!
