  • October 22nd Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is a bright sunny day with the high of 73 and the low of 52. Just beautiful.

I am solo tonight, so my brain has not come up with an idea yet for a meal.

    What will you be having?

Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Sunny, windy. 50 now. Going up to high 70s. Going to hang a load on the line. I may get nothing done but picking them up. ?
Kroger has chicken legs and thighs for 99 cents. Went yesterday & picked up a bunch. Kept out 6 legs to fry for Joe. Mashed taters, gravy and corn from the garden.

It's been warm today but half an hour ago an electrical storm happened. Knocked the Foxtel out so the movie I was watching didn't have an ending.

I didn't get as much housework done as I wanted to. I woke up with a very sore back so I took it easy for the day. It's turned cold since the storm so I'll just go to bed and hope that tomorrow is more productive.

Dinner tonight was steak... John had onion and two eggs with his; I had snow peas and cauliflower mash.

Hannah started a children's sports program today. She knew all about it because she has watched Andrew in the same program. He has moved on to Little Athletics now. I think Hannah's program needs to sell size 1 uniforms... the size 2 that she's wearing looks more like a dress than a tshirt...

As I scrolled down, I saw the hair and thought of Andrew. Then I thought - that isn't Andrew's face - that's Hannah. She is not a baby anymore - I'm thinking she will be two in November. You can tell she is Andrew's little sister!!

Dinner tonight will be hamburger stroganoff over noodles and grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, purple onion, red pepper, green pepper and mushrooms)

She is just adorable Chayote! Love the curls!

What a difference a day makes! It absolutely poured this morning! There was a little rain on and off later and it cleared beautifully and the sky is a lovely blue again. My new freezer got delivered at 8:30 am and it’s chilling down so I can load it up. I saw a movie preview on FB for A Man Called Otto starring Tom Hanks that looks great. It’s based on the book A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, one of my favorite books of all time. There is an original Swedish movie of that title and I watched it today with the subtitles on Prime and it was just wonderful. My yard guy Jeremy came and finished up the yard, it looks better and I’ve got great visibility with all the trees trimmed.

I’m going to make a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and have some red seedless grapes and potato chips with it. I tried out a recipe for Tarragon Chicken Salad a couple of days ago and it is so good, I’ve already posted the recipe.

g'day, Vera... yes, Andrew and Hannah are extremely alike when we compare photos of Andrew at the same age. Hannah is almost 2. She's certainly not a baby any more. She doesn't talk very much but she's good at growling at people when she doesn't like being told to stop what she's doing. We were there two days ago. She was trying to climb over the back of the couch which could only have a bad outcome. I told her "no climbing" and she just frowned at me and continued to climb. I gently held her leg so she couldn't climb and you'd think I had beaten her up! She bellowed and sobbed her hear out but then we noticed, there were no tears. She fooled me... sounding so convincing. I'd still stop her from doing something that I know she's not allowed to do.

She's very cute, Charlene but exhausting. The parents are still pushing the afternoon sleep but she's not a fan of sleeping at all. She creates mayhem when out shopping and so many little old ladies want to talk about her curls and some want to touch them. Hannah barks at them if they try... *LOL*

When my daughter was in the 2-4 year old range we had to stop making her take naps in the afternoon because she would not go to sleep at night at all. I had a babysitter for awhile when I was working that would have her take 3 to 4 hour naps every day and she was still bouncing off the walls at 3 AM. I had to find a different sitter for her when I asked the one we had to please stop making her take naps, and she wouldn’t because she said Kristen was tired all day. Well no kidding, she’s wide awake all night!
