    Good Morning!

It is a beautiful sunny morning with wind still blowing. It was so strong yesterday while I was outside getting items put away for winter that laying something down that was lightweight was not a good choice unless you felt like doing the 50- yard dash The high of 75 and the low of 51 makes it feel like a beautiful summer day instead of Fall. So perfect.

I am solo tonight but will use the roasted sweet potato that is leftover and make sweet potato hash, along with apple sauce.

    What will you be having?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Well, I had a crappy day. We were to go to the laundromat to dry the washing yesterday and didn't make it. Today I realised that I could smell laundry liquid in the wet clothes and soon realised that my beloved washing machine had malfunctioned. Only the hot water was coming through to the machine so all our clothes had been washed in hot water and not rinsed because the cold water didn't work. I don't like using the washing machines at the laundromat so I used my machine manually, i.e. put some of the washed clothes in, sprayed them with the garden hose until the water was up to the level to cover the clothes, agitated the machine for a few minutes and then spun them out. I had to do each load twice to get the soap out. It took me all stinkin' day to rinse them all and I still have to dry it all tomorrow. I'll call a repairman tomorrow and then the big decision has to be made... do I repair my Mum's 40yo washing machine that I love or ditch it and buy a new machine and dryer ready for the new house? Of course it may not be my machine at fault... it may be something wrong with the cold water tap. I can get to the tap but can't budge the handle one way or the other. If I remove the water connections from the machine I may have water spraying everywhere. What's that I hear? ...turn the water off at the mains? Good idea and I would do that but it's under very low tree branches and I can't get to it. My current plan is to call the repairman to see if he's willing to fix such an old machine and if the fault is not the machine, I'd like him to service it anyway. Then I can call the owner of the house and tell him that the plumbing is at fault.

I cooked very simply tonight... sausages in the airfryer and onion in a frypan on the stove. Our groceries were delivered so we had it on fresh buttered bread.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day than today.

Chayote, DH says it is likely the inlet valve for cold water has failed and the part, solenoid valve, is about $15. on Amazon. We've been there.

We took the Corvette out for one last spin before it gets pack up for the winter tomorrow. Couldn't decide where to eat and wanted to try something new. We went to a hibachi/ hot pot place. Hubs got hibachi and I got hot pot. I am so stuffed and really didnt eat that much. I would go again.

When we got home I took the dog for a really long walk. We usually do not go walking on Sundays because there are so many people out, but it was to nice not to enjoy it. We got 5 miles in and he got pet by tons of people, even a lady in a wheel chair. He behaved so well people said how good he is. Then we sat outside for a good hour and a half just enjoying the weather. I read filthy romance novels and he bugged the neighbors while they are putting up storm windows. All of the Spanish people on the block are putting up storm windows this year, so I guess they are expecting a bad winter.

It’s been so pretty today, clean air, blue skies and puffy clouds all day. It’s a bit chilly, it felt good to have a hoodie on. This morning I got most of the food out of the old freezer and into the new one, plus I did an inventory of what was going in and the quantities, created a list on my phone and printed it and posted it on the freezer door. I also put up a Command Hook on the door with a pen tied to it. I should have started doing this years ago! One thing for sure, I don’t need to buy any meat for months! After I finished that I watched a couple of movies that I’d been wanting to see for awhile, The 100 Year Old Man and The 101 Year Old Man (the titles are way longer!) and they were as good as the books were.

I’m trying out a recipe for a creamy lemon pasta and I’m adding shrimp to it and I’ll have some fruit with it.

g'day, smokey... thank you *SO* much for that information. The solenoid valve makes perfect sense. I just hope they still make that part for a 40yo machine.

My back is killing today after manually doing four or five loads of washing!!

Because we would use more petrol getting there and back than what it costs at the laundromat

But you didn't? go to the laundromat, at least that's what you posted. Why not take your laundry to your daughters house when you have a "playdate" with your granddaughter?
Wouldn't that make sense ? Play with your granddaughter and do laundry at the same time, certainly beats using your garden hose to rinse your clothes. Just a thought.

...because I just didn't. I chose to deal with the situation without anyone else involved. I don't understand why you're so concerned about my method of rinsing my laundry.

...and as for my playdate with Hannah, it's something I like to do because I'm in their area and her nanny doesn't work on a Tuesday.

...as for using the garden hose in my washing machine, I thought it was a good idea and it worked.

...and I did go to the laundromat today to put my garden hose rinsed laundry through the dryer.

Relax Chayote, no need to get so defensive , all I was saying was that maybe doing your laundry at your daughters, while you are babysitting Hannah , would be a good solution since you don't have a dryer.
                      That's all.

I went through my closet today and put much in give away. Now I will need to shop. Fortunately I had bought some items before my vacation. Thankfully I still have some items that fit. I knew I was loosing but hadn’t pulled out some of the items in a while.

Have a good rest of your week.

I'll do a deal with you... You feel that I'm being defensive when I simply answer your questions. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. I'll stop being "defensive" when you stop nitpicking almost everything I write. Let's start with you stop telling me what I should have done differently and you just SOB when you see my posts. This is why I asked you to stop pm'ing me. End it here, Sabine.

Why don't you just block me. Then you won't have to see what I post or just don't respond. I don't care if you answer / respond to my post. Let's start with this one. That is my deal.

Whatever you want, Sabine. I'm tired of this negativity. Feel free to say whatever you want. I don't block people but I can ignore you. You remind me so much of my mother in law, God rest her soul
