    Good Morning!

It is another beautiful day with the high of 75 and the low of 55. Such lovely weather.

Well, it was a sad weekend with putting away my decorations and flower boxes. My yard and house look so barren and while helping me the neighbor children kept begging me that I should leave everything up all winter. DGS put the items that are just heavier than I can do safely and even made a comment last night how empty everything looks. My entire body is aching like crazy this morning and because I am heading out for grocery shopping, I imagine by tonight I will hurt even more but tomorrow I plan on crocheting on the porch and enjoying the day.

Dinner is up in the air at this point and will see what jumps into my cart.

What will you be having this evening?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Simple day... we went down town to get a few things and came home via the opshop where I found a nice little Cabbage Patch girl that only needed her hair done. Cabbage Patch shoes are very scarce and she had just one. I'll keep it... never know I might find another one the same. There weren't many different styles and colours made.

Housework day tomorrow. My helper, Brooke will be here at 9.30am and do whatever I can't and then when she leaves, we'll drive to John's poker. We'll have lunch at the club, he will go into his game and I'll drive over to have a play date with Hannah. Fun afternoon and then we are having dinner with the family.

Tonight's dinner was horrible but John enjoyed it. He's been craving for KFC chicken for months so that's what we had... two pieces of chicken, small mash and gravy, bread roll and small oversalted, soggy chips. The only thing that John agreed with is that the chips were soggy and as salty as the sea. It was a meal I'm not in a hurry to have again.

Chayote: I have to say as well, that we have not be too impressed with KFC the last few times...we do not have it often. We found it does not even taste hardly like it used too, and not much chicken on the pieces either...for the price you pay, it certainly is a rip-off!

Another gorgeous day her for us as well. Went for a little walk to post office before lunch, and I think that I will go for another longer walk soon...hoping DD will join me before she and her hubby head back to the city for the week.
No fussing over a meal tonight, as I am doing a clean out the fridge dinner.
Hubby goes in for his knee surgery on Thursday, so I want to eat up whatever we can in fridge and then I will do a big shop to keep us going for awhile, as he won't be driving for 3 weeks.

We’ve had rain on and off today and it’s been in the mid 50’s this afternoon. I swear, I can see a difference in the lawns already, they’re starting to get green again. I got the old freezer emptied and it’s been defrosting all day. I added and updated the inventory in the new one in the process. I also got my laundry done too, so I’ve been productive today, yay! Tomorrow I’ll clean the old one up and get the items I plan on keeping in there put back in. Last night when I was on the phone with my son Steve, Abby started barking at the glass door. I looked out and there was a huge possum on the porch enjoying the small bowl of food I leave out for Mendi until she comes in at night. That thing was almost as big as Abby! It ran off when I opened the door. I’m not going to hurt it, they’re more beneficial than they are annoying. It sure was a big healthy one!

I’m going to make a half package of Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken, some brown rice and yellow squash for my dinner.

Since we've lived in this town we've been curious as to why every afternoon there is a long queue at KFC Gawler, sometime spilling out to the road. We surmised that either they are selling chicken with extra flavouring (weed) and that brings people on a daily basis (just kidding on this one), the people in Gawler live on takeaway or they sell the best KFC in the land... all of which are very unlikely. John wanted to try it to see if the latter was the reason and we found out it was no better than any other KFC. I kid you not, between 4pm and 5pm there would be no less than 30 cars in the queue most days. John said it was $24 for 2xdinner packs that included 3 pieces of chicken (not 2 as I mistakenly mentioned), potato and gravy, chips, tiny bread roll and a can of Pepsi. That's not overly expensive here but we won't buy it again. The mystery remains as to why so many people go there.

When I looked at my dinner last night I wished I could snap my fingers and turn it into a leafy salad.
