    Good Morning!
    Happy Halloween!

It is dark and raining with the high of 67 and the low of 55.

Keep your eye out for black cats, witches on brooms flying by, and a cauldron bubbling away!!

Dinner will be a nest of worms baked in a sauce along with bat wings and eye of newt.

What will be your dinner this spooky day?

We drew a circle that took him in.

DS wanted to BBQ steak tonite, but it's supposed to rain later on so we scrapped that idea...I will cook a roast done with onion soup mix/mushroom soup over top and I think I'll toss some potatoes and carrots in the pan as well.

Halloween participation has spread across Australia in recent years... I think because it's a lucrative time for retailers. Children were being interviewed on our news tonight and were asked what they liked about Halloween. They said because they get some lollies and chocolates. I prepared for an onslaught of door-knockers and purchased 5 share packs of Cadbury chocolates. It rained all night last night and all day today... it's still raining and hasn't stopped for 36 hours. No children knocked on our door and now I'm faced with having to eat my way through the chocolates, which just happen to be my favourites...

We didn't do much today... listened to the rain, worked on Hannah's new blanket, bathed my new CPKs and googled why there is no substitute shoes that will fit CPKs. I refuse to pay $45 a pair for them on eBay.

For dinner... no, we didn't just eat chocolate... we each had a small steak with mashed potato/pumpkin... John had peas, I had corn and alfalfa.

Pot roast, mashed potatoes and carrots and onions for us tonight.
We haven't had any trick or treaters for the last few years, but I am still prepared. Of course, had to get what my husband and I like - chocolates and rice krispy bars. If no one comes, oh well, it will be our treat!!

I’ve got lean ground beef out but have not decided what to fix. I may fix a taco for my dinner. My appetite is shot. Enjoy your dinner and evening.

If it's plain chocolate it makes a yummy ganache. Freeze it for future uses. (after nibbling on some, lol!)

                Happy Halloween!

I’m all set up for ghosts and goblins tonight, extra light on porch, electric heater next to my chair, all that stuff. I just hope it stays dry, it’s been drizzly all day. I can’t wait to see what the guy across the street has planned for tonight, people have been driving by taking pictures for days. I did a quick trip down to the mini mart to pick up Powerball tickets, I don’t play often but when it starts hitting over $500 million I’ve got to get a few. Most I ever buy is 5. Fingers and toes crossed!

Just going simple tonight, chicken pot pie before the kids start showing up.

Great idea, Hayburner except that it's not plain chocolate... I'll keep that in mind if we have plain chocolate around. I have these:

The packet that is already gone were Milky Ways. Just noticed that they are not all by Cadbury but they are all good. I love the Turkish Delight straight from the freezer. Chomps are cheap and very chewy.
