  • November 11th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

Ick, ick, and triple ick!!! It is dark and raining and will be all day with locally heavy rain. The high will be 60 and the low of 37.

A pot of pinto beans with ham, rice, cornbread waffles and fruit will be dinner.

    What will be your dinner?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

It’s been nice most of the day but it has started clouding up this afternoon. I’ve been doing laundry and finished packing clothes, also made a shelter for Mendi on the covered front porch. Tomorrow I’ll probably start loading the car and top off with gas.

I’m heating up some chicken chile verde that I made and froze and I think I’ll make some rice to go with it.

Hopefully no raccoons or some other critter will not make themselves comfortable on your porch and eat her food . Or heavy rain will make everything wet on your porch. Maybe a kennel would have been a better solution for her, especially since you will be gone some time? This is not to criticize you , I am just wondering ?

Oh, I’m sure there will be critter visits but I’m leaving an 18 pound bag of food with my next door neighbor. My porch actually stays pretty dry even in the worst rain and snow.
I’ve got a small waterproof tarp firmly attached to the bench and chair covering the shelter and I’ve got a 2x4 on the top of the shelter that’s wedged into the chair and bench. I sure hope we don’t get heavy winds or a deep freeze, but Mendi has a bunch of places she hides out when she’s outside. She’ll probably schmooze her way into the neighbor’s house, they like her too. She’s lived outside most of the time and she makes the rounds of the houses that surround me. She’ll be fine, I have people watching for her.
