    Good Morning!

The sun is shining in between dark clouds, so I hope the sun wins out. I don't think it will as there is a Lake effect snow warning with 6-9 inches expected and, in some places as much as a foot in the snow belt which is always so much fun. The high of 38 and the low of 24 makes for a chilly day.

At a little before seven I got a text saying my eye appointment was canceled because of weather so then I could not get back asleep. Oh well, at least I am in where it is warm.

Dinner will be part chili and part spaghetti, so comfort food it is, and it is just a case of reheat and eat.

    What will be your dinner?

Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

As I was waking up this morn, I recalled that our local Salvation Army thrift store was opening today after being shut down for 3 days in order to bring out all the Christmas decorations. I asked hubs if he had any plans, and could we go...he knows I'm Christmas crazy + I love a good bargain! So away we went, and I managed to get some really cute things.
I plan to make a chicken stir-fry for dinner tonite.

We only got an inch or so of snow but they say more is coming tonight. I ran to Meijer because turkeys are 55 cents a lb so I got 2 of them. I am just going to pressure cook the whole thing and can it up. The painter will be done tomorrow woot woot. I am so glad to see the stupid contractors gray paint go and put some sage color on the walls. The kitchen is done so I got things put back in place but I still need to scrub the cabinets and such.New blinds are going up Sunday and then I am done. My ear feels much better than yesterday so at least I can function. Picking up some Chinese tonight because I am feeling lazy.

It been a really pretty day today, very nice out. Evidently we had a bear visit our yard during the night and it scattered trash everywhere. There was an empty Pam Spray can in it that it hit a hole through and crushed the can! Kim and I went down to Kernville and went to a couple of antique stores and I found a vinyl album of The Concert at Big Sur, the first time I’d ever heard Mickey Newbury when I saw the documentary. I had to buy it! My son is going to encode it for me so I can play it on my iPod and iPad. That will be cool!

We’re going to have chicken Caesar salad using some of the leftover chicken from last night. It really was tasty!

I survived my procedure yesterday... not being dramatic, it wasn't dangerous or anything. It was very, very painful though. My knee is now feeling better than it has in the past two years. Ketamine is an amazing drug. Cortisone is a lifesaver. I can walk without pain, I'm no longer inactive and even getting some housework done. I don't know how long this will last but I can have repeat infusions right up to when I have my knee replacement. I hope in a few days I can stop taking oral painkillers which can only improve my waking hours.

Our dinner last night was lamb chops, mashed sweet potato... John had peas and I had corn and alfalfa.

Chayote - A very good friend of mine just had her second knee done in early October. Surgery went very well, and I saw her last week. I hope you have the same results.

We are having leftover quiche I made and some sort of vegetable to go with it.

Thank you, Vera... I'm grateful for the relief that I have now but am looking forward to the surgery. Before I get it done I have another appointment with the surgeon. He has asked for a full lower-body xray of hips, knees and ankles. I could end up being the bionic woman! I'm planning on asking for a referral for John as well. He has severe osteo-arthritis and would love for him to have the same pain relief as I've had.
