What a day! We left Redding this morning, it was cold, but sunny and beautiful and we really made good time until we got to Portland. We stopped in Medford OR and I found the house my great-grandfather owned and took a picture of it. It had not changed. Traffic in Portland was just ridiculous, took us 1-1/2 hours to get through it. We had decided by then that we were going to get a hotel near the Seattle airport because I’d checked my surveillance cameras and saw that my house had snow and I didn’t want to drive there in the dark. When we got to Tacoma the rain was getting really bad and Steve said he’d skip the flight home and rent a car to get back and he wanted to make sure I got home safely and he drove the rest of the way to my house. When we got to Seattle and Everett the snow was coming down hard, and it was slow going. We got home at about 8:45 pm and had some food and we’re beat. The inside of the house was 45°, and you can be sure the second thing I did when I got in the door was turn on the heat and the fireplace. Potty was first on the list! Abby was happy to be back on her house again and my neighbors have Mendi safely in their garage. We’ll get Steve a rental tomorrow, weather permitting. For now, I’m going to bed!
