  • December 22nd Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is the calm before the storm at the moment dark clouds and patches of blue sky. The high today will be of 42 and the low of 30 along with rain starting with this afternoon. Tomorrow a heatwave of 0 and the low of -5 with winds at 50 mph, whiteouts and the windchill at a mind blowing -15/-20. Yes, that is deadly so if you are in the states that have it posted, please, be so careful. Please.

Chicken noodle soup with blueberry muffins will be dinner.

    What is your dinner tonight?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Hubs is working late tonight down south before the blizzard hits so I am not sure what to make for dinner. I could go for hamburger gravy over mashed potato but I doubt he would eat it. Its one of those things he ate alot when he was growing up so now he hates it, I feel the same way about anything curry flavored so I get it. Whatever I make will use ground beef.

We are expecting the storm as well...sure hope we can all enjoy our Christmas dinner without the power going out!
Doing some more tidying around the house this aft, finished up last of grocery shopping this morn, all that's left is for hubby to go out and buy all the booze tomorrow.
DS & DS went to Costco early and I requested a chicken pot pie for our dinner today, sure hope it comes home as I don't feel like cooking!

It’s been COLD today, it was 11° when I got up and it’s 24° right now. That snow is not melting a bit obviously. More snow is expected late tonight and we’re expecting freezing rain tomorrow. I’m not leaving my house! I just hope we don’t lose power. The roads everywhere are dangerously icy. I’ve just stayed in and stayed warm and waited hand and foot on the fur beasties.

I’m making Hamburger Cutlets Parmesan, some pasta and a small salad for dinner.

♫♪♫oh what fun it is to have♪♫♪♫ ...food poisoning so close to Christmas... I've finally been able to drag myself out of bed after eating bad seafood at our favourite club on Tuesday lunchtime. It hit me late on Wednesday and here it is Friday, 23rd and I'm only just feeling human. I know 100% it was the seafood and everything else I had eaten around that time was shared with John.

With everything else going on with your life, you certainly didn't need this to happen. Good grief, so sorry to hear this. I hope by tomorrow you will be back to normal and can enjoy Christmas Day with Julia and family. Be sure to give us an update. Again, so sorry.

I've graduated to being able to eat, of all things, wafer ice cream cones. Everything else seems to taste only of salt. It wasn't a large serving of seafood but enough to make a mess of me. We'll be going back to the club on Tuesday and I'm going to tell them what happened. They won't do anything about it. If I ask if other diners have reported back to them, they won't admit it. I'm about to go back to bed.

Btw, John's surgery won't be happening now until the new year and considering the food poisoning, it's just as well. He's feeling ok and the jaundice has cleared up, therefore the urgency of the surgery has lessened.

Maybe it wasn't food poisoning, maybe you had a case of the flu?

I don't think so. It was classic food poisoning symptoms. I'm ok now... just taking it easy with food.
