  • How You Fix a Cell Phone

Take the dang battery out, wait, wait, put it back in and listen, do you hear it, all the messages, Amber alerts and missed calls.

Ane that is how it is done folks. No, I did not figure it out but my 83- year- old neighbor knew. Could there be hope for me?

She probably has an old flip phone. When i had one of those many, many years ago, you could just pop the back off and take the battery out and replace it. With the new cell phones it's impossible unless you have special tools/ screw drivers. If a battery is dead then taking it out and putting it back in, is not going to make any difference, a dead battery is not going to work again just by taking it out.

A few months ago I had a minor problem with my Apple 6 IPhone. At the Apple store, the very nice and helpful tech lady said, "my, what a little gem you have". I had no idea I was so behind the times!

I loved my flip phone - so easy and I only used the phone for phone calls. I got forced to get an IPhone but it is an IPhone 8 that is turned on maybe once a week or only when I leave the house. I don't like it, but I will not upgrade until the phone ends up being unsupported. I am just not a technology whiz, and I don't want to be one of those people that has to look at their phone all the time, especially walking out in store parking lots.

The iPhone I had until last year was the 6, I upgraded to the 13 ProMax last year. I really like it a lot. It IS my computer.

I hear you Vera, neither am I. I don't know what went on with it other than Verizon sent out letters saying they would be in the area upgrading as I said in an earlier post and then I was without my phone and did not notice it for some time as I am not attached at the hip like a lot are. It had a full charge when it came back on, and it is fine now. I took my neighbor some flowers today for helping me and she was so surprised. It was a thank you for the help she gave me. I will not get a new phone until I am forced into it and then it will be the simplest phone I can get. No bells or whistles.

I use my cell phone every day for one reason or another. I also text with my all my kids almost daily. It is like a mini computer. I have a laptop at home and a tablet, which I use when I am at home, when I am out I use my phone. The only thing I don't get on my android phone is face time. But I get it on my tablet, love face time .

my last three phones (Samsung) have had sealed battery compartments. I didn't think anyone still had phones where they could change the batteries. With each upgrade of phones, the manufacturers have stopped upgrading the older models and not supported any service on them. I'm surprised that they still work but there you go. I have a new Samsung phone now and planning on buying a new desktop computer during the Boxing Day sales.
