  • January 16th Dinner Post

The sun is out full force with rain late tonight and the high of 42 and the low of 38.

DGS asked if there was enough pork leftover for chop suey and there is so that will be dinner. I will serve it over Basmati rice along with a fruit salad.

What will be your dinner this evening?

We drew a circle that took him in.

It will either be Johnny Marzetti or cheese burgers. Not sure I feel like changing out of my fuzzy jammies to get burger buns.

That was me yesterday muz. Just did not feel like going out for any reason so just did not. I am baking some chocolate chunk cookies for DGS and his lunches so that will be the reason I stay home today. The house smells good so will enjoy the aroma while it lasts.

South Australian residents are still melting but there's supposed to be a cool change tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow is poker day and that means I don't have to cook an evening meal. John usually has a roast and he doesn't need two hot meals in one day. My home help comes in the morning. Not sure what she will do because I've stayed home during the hot weather and the house is very clean. She will change the bed linen and she can vacuum the bedrooms and then leave early.

Saw on the news that Gina Lollobrigida died aged 95. She was certainly a beautiful looking woman. I remember watching one of her movies on our black and white TV when I was a child and my Mum turned it off because I could see Gina Lollobrigida's cleavage... *LOL* I guess it was daring in those days.

For dinner tonight we had steak... John had a baked potato, baked onion and an egg; I had mashed potato with cheese and alfalfa sprouts.

It's a rainy 38. I toyed with making chili but decided on taco rice skillet. THEN hubby got up feeling yucky so he'll want soft boiled eggs (that's what he ALWAYS wants ) I'll eat whatever. Made a white cake, choc icing last night. That may be my sup.

Another glorious sunny day and temps are warmer! I may go for a bit of a walk out on our lake, bit nervous tho as it has not been frozen over that long, neighbour checked the ice and there is 10 inches and he made a walking/ski trail for those who wish to use it.
This week will be spent in the kitchen most days, guess that's a sign of feeling better! I am just finishing making a pot of potato/ham soup for our lunches for the next few days. Tomorrow I will do some pre-prep for cabbage roll making on Wednesday, then Thursday I am roasting a turkey.
Tonite's dinner is leftover roast beef/gravy...hot sandwiches I think sounds good and a veg on the side

It’s been a nice day out, some clouds but sunny with pleasant temperatures. I woke up with a migraine starting up so I took my Imitrex and it’s mostly faded. I still feel king of achy all over but that’s how it usually goes. I’ve been taking it pretty easy today.

I’m going to make a package of Velveeta shells and cheese and sauté some onion and Turkey smoked sausage to add to it. I think I’ll heat up a small dish of the chickpeas, tomatoes and spinach to have with it.

I made a quick meal with left over mashed potatoes. No appetite but I that I would mess up a pan anyway. Tomorrow I will do a better job eating.

                have a good evening.
