    Good Morning!

It is raining and so dark out. The high will be 56 and the low of 34 along with some heavy rain later tonight and snow moving in tomorrow.

I am getting my tags for my car today as I just found out I can get them renewed 3 months ahead and that is good news for me. Wonder how I never knew that before? I knew a month ahead you could but at least I know now and can do it now before the snow is so deep and it is frigid out.

I have no idea what it is called but am thinking of making taco meat over nacho chips and all the goodies on top of that with cheese on it all. Bake till hot and cheese melts and then put the goodies on top of that. DGS will love it and make a point asking what it is called and laugh when I tell him food because he knows I can never remember the name.

What is calling your name for dinner tonight?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Maybe this will help you to remember, it's not that hard. Not nacho chips, they are called tortilla chips.

Nachos are a Mexican culinary dish consisting of fried tortilla chips or totopos covered with melted cheese or cheese sauce, as well as a variety of other toppings and garnishes, often including meats, vegetables, and condiments such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.

I just remembered that you posted a while back that you have me blocked, so I guess you are not going to see my post. Oh well, maybe one of your buddies on this board will relate my post to you and if not, that is ok. No big deal.

John and I decided to go out for dinner tonight. It doesn't happen very often but we really enjoyed it. We went to our local pub, The Southern. We had fried onion rings as an entrée and our main courses were battered flathead with chips and salad for me; pork schnitzel, mashed potato and vegetables for John. I was nice to just talk without the TV going and other people talking to us.

Since we got home we've been watching the Australian Open tennis tournament. Andy Murray (UK) and Thanasi Kokkinakis (Australia) have been playing for over 6 hours now. I should be barracking for the Aussie, and he comes from Adelaide, but I'm not. Andy Murray is a tennis legend and he's playing despite having hip replacement surgery. It's being played in Melbourne and it's after 3am there. They have just started the 5th set... they might play for another 2 hours... Glad we don't have to go anywhere tomorrow.

Do you have the option of renewing them online? I can’t even remember the last time I actually went to a DMV office to renew tags. The DMV in CA was a nightmare so for many years we renewed at AAA. Then CA started renewals online and you could do it a couple months ahead of time. The tags got sent by mail. Since I moved to WA I’ve only done renewals online and I usually get them in a few days, you can even select which office you want them mailed from.

Here in texas the renewal form is mailed to you. Then you have a choice of either renew it online , or by mail or go to one of our major grocery stores to their business center and renew there.
i have never gone to the DMV.

When our tags expire here in Virginia, we are required to get an emissions test first. Once that is passed, you wait 24 hours for the computers to update and then you can mail in your check with the appropriate form or log in to the DMV and enter the title number and last four digits of the VIN, your vehicle ID pops up and you enter your credit card number. Your plate stickers come in the mail within the week.

Well, my cooking day didn't turn out like planned, but that's ok. Turkey was still more or less frozen solid in middle...its only just over 11 lbs and its been in the fridge thawing since Monday. I got the stuffing stuff ready to go for tomorrow. We will have leftover cabbage rolls for tonite. We have Kian here tomorrow so I will be able to put the bird in the oven when he goes down for his nap, then I will get all the veggies prepped.

It’s been a very pretty day today, so I made good use of it. I stopped at Safeway for some items that I needed and then headed to Costco where I really stocked up. There were a few items I wasn’t able to get but I did stick to my list. When I got home I got all the garage stored items taken care of, loaded the freezer and updated the inventory lists. Now I’m giving my feet a much needed break.

I found a recipe this morning for a green chile quiche and decided that was going to be dinner along with a salad.
