  • January 23rd Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

Snow is plastered on every tree branch, house, car and the ground had 5 inches when I turned out the lights last night and it has snowed all night and still is. I am guessing we have about 8-10 inches now and more expected along with the high of 34 and the low of 28.

I found DGS in the kitchen yesterday slicing and dicing his heart out and asked him what the result would be of his labor and he said he was hoping that if he got everything ready that I would make some potato and ham soup for dinner tonight. Yes, I will. I am also making some garlic bread and jello with fruit in it.

In what direction will you be going for a dinner meal tonight?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

We spent the day at home... warm day of 90°f. A huge electrical storm hit at around 8pm that dumped a lot of rain in a very short time. I couldn't even get outside to turn my sprinkler off! Since the rain stopped it's become very humid and uncomfortable.

Dinner was good tonight. I cooked small pieces of rump steak... John had a baked potato, onion and peas; I had a steak, green salad with raw mushrooms and Catalina dressing and two 4-cheese potato gratins. I would have preferred this meal without the meat but... you know... doctor's orders

Cloudy, we have around 2 inches snow 33° thankfully very little wind. Looks like we're going to get slammed Tue night & Wed. As of now their saying up to 9 inches. Ugh.
It's between green beans, ham/potatos OR bubble and sqeek OR there's a casserole I want to try. Creamy ham and noodles. ????
will probably make gooey butter bars cause I can't get them off my mind. So it will be off my mind and on my hips

WOW LTB of I had someone to decide AND do the prep I'd be in 7th heaven. Bravo dgs

Switcho changeo. Found a bag of various cheeses from Christmas. It's use it or lose it. So scalloped potatos with 5 cheeses.

The snow is wet and heavy and looks so pretty on the trees. Not sure whats for dinner, nothing sounds good.

We got some snow here as well, and it sure does look beautiful on all the trees! We went back to town today cuz I didn't finish getting everything yesterday.
Dinner will be yet again more turkey, we don't mind tho....not sure what I'm going to do with it...maybe just sandwiches and soup.

I have leftovers in my fridge and I am exhausted so I think I will go with that this evening. Last night I make cornbread so that will go with chili.

I agree with Rosie, Chayote. Your dinner looks very appetizing. You photograph your food very well. Having tortellini with baked chicken. It won't look as nice on the plate as Chayote's meal though.

It’s been cool and cloudy all day today. I did a few things around the house, then got cleaned up to go to the MeetUp gathering at Dragon Palace in Stanwood and then go and see A Man Called Otto at the theater in the same building. The building that they’re in doesn’t look like much on the outside but it’s absolutely delightful inside. It looks like a street scene of old downtown Stanwood, with lovely murals and faux storefronts and a gazebo. The restaurants in there are set up so it looks like sidewalk cafes. It’s very charming. I’m not exactly sure what I’m having yet, it’s been years since I’ve had Chinese food because Ken really didn’t care for it.
