  • February 12th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

The sun is bathing the land again with a cloudless sky and the high today of 48 and the low of 30.

Salmon patties, sweet potatoes, and roasted broccoli will be dinner tonight.

What Sunday dinner will grace your table tonight?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

I’m going to see what I have in my fridge. I briefly thought of baking bread today but lacked enough interest to do so. I know I have salad ingredients if I don’t come up with another idea.

Oh my goodness, what a pretty day out there! I went for a nice long walk, then sat out on the back deck and read, then went back out for another walk...the air almost smelt Spring-like
DS wants to do a bunch of appys for Super Bowl, me and hubby will help him in the kitchen. On the menu is mozza stuffed dill pickles rolled in Panko and baked, then he's making some taco meat thingy/cheese spread on small tortillas, fold over and fry, some veggie roll things and who know what else!
A balanced diet is a cookie in both hands

It’s a nice day, some interesting looking clouds over Puget Sound just adds to the beauty. I know, I know, it’s Super Bowl today and honestly I just don’t really care. I’m recording the game so I can zip through it and watch the commercials because they’re the best part for me. I’m pretty sure my DNA chain is missing the sports gene.

My dinner last night was so good I’m going to do it again tonight. Marinated and smoked tri-tip, baked potato and a small salad since I ate all the asparagus yesterday.

We are watching the super bowl game.
if you are recording the game, you may want to skip watching the half time show. It was awful
and that is putting it mildly and the commercials were nothing to write home about either.

I read some of the online comments about the halftime show so just out of curiosity I watched it…it was awful! I’m not really familiar with her music at all, couldn’t understand any of the lyrics anyway. Some of her “gestures” were just plain nasty. Yes, I must be gettin’ old!

My husband and I stopped watching the Super Bowl several years ago due to NFL policies. I used to host the neighborhood parties but no more. When I went to turn on a TV, the Fox channel was on and there was a sign that said Rihanna was coming up next, so I decided to watch the "entertainment". I use that word loosely and I was underwhelmed. She was wearing a red tarp and I was more focused on that hideous outfit than her. I guess entertainment nowadays you have to be outrageous to call attention to yourself. Glad I wasn't one of the fans paying $$$ to watch that. Turned off the TV after hoping the show would get better but it didn't.

And since when do we have a black national anthem played before the National Anthem?
Rihanna was nothing more then a pregnant chick in a red tarp who phoned in her show. She wiggled her feet , I don't call that dancing. I don't call her "show" entertainment.
