  • February 13th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

A partly sunny sky with the high of 50 and the low of 28.

A loaded salad with salmon and garlic bread will be dinner.

What will be your Monday night meal?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Very busy day today starting with an early appointment at the bank. We then went looking at mobility scooters to make our final decision on which ones to buy. Once we were home we spent a long time researching vehicles for sale in South Australia and Victoria and came up with four suitable vans. We have another couple of very hot days later in the week so we'll do as much as we can over the next two days. I'm so sick and tired of looking at vehicles for sale, and then we need to look at advertising our VW Caddy for sale.

Our dinner tonight was making the best of what was in the fridge. John had a BBQ pork chop, baked potatoes, peas and onion; I had leftover chicken wings with fried rice and a huge salad made up of lettuce, onion, cucumber and alfalfa.

Speaking of dinner, Hannah has suddenly discovered that she loves red meat! She had lamb cutlets for her dinner and I think you'll see that she really, really loved them. This is my new favourite photo of her...

We laughed at it too. She looks like she's in rapture over a lamb chop. She ate two full lamb chops with her dinner and didn't want to give up on the bone.

It was nice enough today to get the older dog out for a good long walk. The puppy is still a month out from walks. She is enjoying the sun even though its chilly out. She would be out there sunbathing all day. I am making kielbasa fried rice for dinner, not sure how hubs is going to feel about it, but oh well.

Hannah looks in absolute heaven. Our son, in his 40s, won't eat anything on a bone such as ribs, chicken wings, pork chops - strange and I don't know why. You would never catch him licking the bone, but I would!

That’s a picture worth framing! She looks like she’s in 7th Heaven there.

Ken wouldn’t eat off the bone either, but I sure will!

Well, the day started off nice and I planned togo for a long walk after lunch once I got all my chores done...didn't happen...rain/snow mix happened, it was yucky. Hubby and I decided to go for a drive instead.
Seems that a gastro bug has hit our DS and Kian. Oh nooooo! We were altogether on Saturday, then DS came down with it Sunday, Kian puked at Granny's house this morning, poor guy. Now I'm paranoid we will succumb to the bug. Yuck. It sure is making it's rounds in this area of late.
We have some football goodies to finish up and also some potato/leek soup, that will be dinner for us

I had lunch out today at a tearoom and played Bunco with my friends. We had a nice time visiting and enjoyed our lunch.

Now that I am home I had every intention of doing a small grocery order but that can wait.

I actually believe I need to turn the heat up in my house and it is not cold outside. I suspect I will be making a small pot of soup or chili this evening.

MudderBear, I just saw a news report last night that there is a norovirus outbreak that’s hitting especially hard in the Great Lakes region, especially Michigan. I had norovirus one time and I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. I sure hope that isn’t what they have!

It’s been pretty chilly today, I was outside for a little bit and glad to come back in. Not a whole lot happening today, just the usual picking up and sweeping up after the fur beasts.

I’m going to finish up the Mongolian ground beef and noodles tonight and have some edamame with it.

Charlie was my only child that didn't eat meat of any kind right from birth and still doesn't at 37. My eldest, Julia stopped eating meat at age 12 and never had it again. The youngest is Tiff and she's a meat eater. She was like Hannah... would have a go any anything.

We've just arrived home from having dinner with the family. Hannah tasted hard boiled egg for the first time and it went down ok. She had no response to eating something she'd never had before. She is insisting on feeding herself now and does very well. She might drop a corn kernel occasionally but 99% of what is on her spoon makes it safely to her mouth.

g'day, Charlene... if I framed every photo I liked of our grandchildren, we wouldn't have any wall space left. I love having photos but not necessarily on the walls. I'm putting up a few collections of frames in the new house but only two sets of the children. John has one of those digital frames on his desk and that shows each photo for 20 seconds. We love looking at the frame at different times to see the photos. This one will definitely go on the frame...
