    Good Morning!

It is a partly cloudy sky with the high of 45 and the low of 35.

My Christmas cactus that bloomed for Thanksgiving, then Christmas and is now blooming and more buds are forming for Easter. How I got so lucky in having one that blooms 3 times in just a few months I do not know but do know how much I love having it and all the beautiful color and flowers.

Dinner will be stuffed peppers I have in the crockpot, Jasmine rice and baked apples.

What Monday night meal will you be eating?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

It is a clear blue sky. Low 40s high near 60. Light wind. I'm thinkin I'll put bedding on the line.
was digging for ham couple days ago. Found a bag of beef broth with meat so we will have beef & noodles, mashed potatos.

LTB what did dgs fix for your bd dinner?

It’s been raining all day today, not unexpected at all. There is some wind too. Our neighborhood is all decked out in flags for President’s Day and they’re waving in the breeze. I got all my Saturday meat purchases portioned out, weighed, marked and vacuum sealed and into the freezer this afternoon, and I don’t need to make any more meat purchases for months! Unless of course Del Fox has some tasty smoked morsel on the weekend, they usually do. Not much else going on today, I’m finally making some headway on that Outlander book I’ve been working on for months. 400 pages in and it’s finally starting to hold my interest.

I’m going to make more smoked flank steak tacos tonight, they were so outrageously good the other night. I don’t need to make anything else with them.

Well, today is Family Day holiday and really, none of that happened....we went to see how Kian was feeling this morning, turns out he has a bi-lateral ear infection...he was feeling much better today after starting the meds, and slept thru the whole nite! Yay! rest for all!
Hubby and I are solo for 2 weeks, so just trying to clean up the food in the fridge...still have lots of turkey soup, so thinking that and a grilled cheese sandwich will be dinner
A balanced diet is a cookie in both hands

Charlene. When you mention your book I always think about back in the 80s I decided to read Roots. Omgosh I could not get into it. Finally about 1/2 way I couldn't put it down. Glad it's finally holding your interest. Also Joe kept holding up Gone with the Wind saying you really should read this. I would look at how thick it was and say nah. I finally gave in
oh my that was an amazing book.

I really like to read big thick books but this one has been a chore until the last week or so. I’ve read the rest of the series and there was one several years ago that dragged like that too. The rest of the series was great. I’m an avid reader, have been since I was about 8 years old. I love historical fiction, murder mysteries, political intrigue mysteries (FBI, CIA etc), Stephen King books and others in that genre, and lots of others. About the only ones I don’t read are the romance novels, or as I’ve heard them called, bodice rippers. I’ve read a few in my many years and they are not my thing.

I read Roots and Gone With The Wind many years ago.
