  • March 15th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

We have the beauty of a blue sky and the glow and warmth of the sun this morning. The snow is melting with the high of 42 and the low of 33.

A sausage and spinach quiche along with biscuits and a fruit salad will be dinner.

What is sounding good for your dinner this Wednesday?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Severe clear sunny 32° high 50°

Nothing to do today so thought I should put in alittle more effort. One of Joe's favorites. Fried chicken, mashed potatos/gravy and garden corn. Maybe some brownies.

Had a rest for most of the day. Tomorrow will be a little stressful for John so I made sure he was calm all day. He has to fast for 12 hours and he gets grumpy without his breakfast.

Our airconditioning was repaired this morning... *cheering* Just in time for the next few days that will be over 30°C.

Dinner tonight: John had a steak sandwich; I had ravioli with bolognaise sauce.
Effort only fully releases its rewards after a person refuses to quit.

It's a bright gorgeous day, I think I should get my butt out for a walk this aft, not feeling as bad as I thought I might. Hubby is still not good. I ended up cooking the pork yesterday, but DS and I did not eat it in hopes that the 3 of us could enjoy it together...it will just be me and DS after all.
Here's a sad love story for you.
Close friends of hubbys family, and their kids all grew up together.
Mr. went into a retirement home some years ago, and Mrs stayed on their apartment nearby. Just before Christmas, Mrs moved into the home as well. She had health issues but was doing fairly well, Mr had had health concerns for many years and talk was that he would depart before her. We just found out late yesterday that Mrs hd passed on, she had been unwell in hospital for a few weeks. Well, I could not believe my eyes when I read a message just a short time ago....Mr passed on this morn! According to the daughter, he had said good-bye last night, and then kissed her and said 'see you tomorrow’

They were married for 73 years, 74 would have been next month. He was 94, she was 92.

I’ve heard of cases where long married couples pass within a few days of each other, it’s sad but I can kind of understand it.

rosie, I think I’ll come to your house for dinner!

It’s a really pretty day today, so bright and sunny. I spent the morning having coffee and bagels with my neighbor across the street, she and I have a lot in common and we get along really well. My fur kids like her too. Not much else happening today.

I’m going to have some BBQ beef, baked beans and a salad for dinner.
