  • March 27th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is a total cloud covered sky and raining. The high will be 46 and the low of 31 so there is a chance the rain will be mixed with snow when the temperature drops throughout the day

Leftover stuffed peppers will be morphed into soup along with cornbread waffles and baked apples.

What direction are you going for your dinner?

Loved those things till as an adult I found out they put ground bologna in with the hamburger because it was cheaper and stretched the burger out. Never ate it as a kid, I thought!!!!!!!!

Ordinary day doing as little as possible. We had a nice dinner: crumbed chicken tenders, John had mashed potato and peas and I had some fried rice. Our family arrived home from their holiday in Queensland so we are having dinner with them after poker. Can't wait to see the children.

Our son, Charlie is travelling again... this time to Japan. Charlie has been there before but there are still things he hasn't yet seen, his partner has never been to Japan and she is joining him next week. They have hired a dog 'nanny' to move into their house for three weeks to care for Lucy, their almost 17 year old Jack Russell.

I use to love deli ham salad till I found out that they stretched it by putting bologna in it.I guess its not so much cheating since it use to be called minced ham,but still is gross when its not an expected ingredient!

Well, it turned out to be a lovely day, high of 6 and some actual warmth to the sun. I made a pot of pea soup this morn which will be for our lunch for the next few days. I usually end up giving most away as hubby and I are the only ones in our family that like it. After lunch I just felt so wiped out and needed to lie down, tried to sleep, but nope...didn't happen. I ended up going for a walk to the park and so thoughtful I did that, hubby said he spent the whole afternoon in the yard puttering, and that's been first time since before covid knocked us down that he could actually be up and about without the need to come in to take a rest.
Dinner is leftover roast beef that I put in to the gravy & BBQ sauce, sauteed some celery, onions, peppers, tossed in leftover bits of taters and peas...will have that spooned over rice.

It is so pretty out today, blue skies, puffy white clouds, just really lovely. I can actually see the Olympic range from my living room this afternoon. I’ve just been doing some things around the house and doing some reading.

I’m going to have more of the Bacon Cheeseburger Rice and some fruit for dinner. I’ll probably vacuum seal and freeze what’s left after I’m finished with dinner.

It’s quite tasty and added bonus, it reheats nicely in the microwave! I got the rest of it vac sealed and into the freezer.
