Things are really moving along and a big step forward from your last pictures. I'm thinking by May your anniversary lunch might be in a nearly complete interior. Maybe a vase of flowers on that folding table would be a nice touch. How many years married? Congratulations.
John didn't want to get out of the car today but I wandered through our new home. I can see where all the power points, light switches and downlights in each room are located. I'm more than ready to move in.
I like your idea of flowers on the table. We've been married 46 years on 7th May and yet still John and our children get the dates mixed up... *LOL* They never remember the dates for our anniversary and my birthday but they know that one is 7th May and one is 11th May. Charlie usually gives me a card that says, "happy anniversary, happy birthday, happy mother's day and anything else that happens in May". We don't usually celebrate our anniversary but last year Julia, Daryl and the children took us out to a beautiful restaurant for lunch and I'm sure I showed you the photos from that.
The house will be finished in late August/early September. Nice to know that we'll be able to put our Christmas decorations and tree up this year.

It's still a house frame wrapped in green insulation but a lot has been done. The plumbing is done, wiring for power points and lights is in, airconditioning is in and yesterday the bricks arrived. We have made a plan to have lunch in the dining room on our wedding anniversary in May. I don't care what we eat, as long as it's in the dining room. We can sit on our mobility walkers and take a folding table for our food. If there are any builders working there that day, we can ask them to take our photo.

The ground will be built up to cover the concrete slab so stepping out of the laundry door just at the left, there will be no step down. There is another sliding door from John's Lego room on the other wall and the land will also be filled to eliminate the need for a step. There will be a one metre wide concrete path right around the house making easy access for walkers or wheelchair.

With the back yard we will plant three fruit trees between the side fence and the house... most likely an apricot, red plum and cherry. One problem here is that the three cyprus trees that you can see belong to the next door neighbour (not cranky man) and they have been planted on our land. It's an easy fix but the neighbour may not be happy. They should have checked where the boundary was before planting them.

These are the bricks we chose. I love the randomness of the deliberate imperfections in the bricks... they just break the appearance of a flat colour brick. It picks up the black (actually a very dark grey called "monument") window frames, guttering and downpipes and roof.
