  • April 2nd Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

After the last 2 days of horrid weather the wind has finally died down and the sky is clear. We had winds at 62 mph, that seems a lot stronger at times as I watched my neighbors pine trees losing branches as they flew into the road and some just flew away. This morning is cold, at 30 and the high of 48 and the low of 39.

I am solo tonight so will pull a salmon patty from the freezer and put it in a salad and have a banana that needs eaten.

What tasty meal will you be having tonight?

But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Welcoming back normal time today... our daylight savings time ended last night. I'm not a fan of daylight savings.

We took delivery of our new vehicle yesterday. We bought a new Renault Trafic LWB Van, which will go to a vehicle modification company have an electric lift and folding side steps installed. While it's being modified, we'll have our new mobility scooters delivered to the van so when we pick it up, everything will be ready to use. When we picked up the van it had a huge red bow on the front and the dealer took our photo in front of it. John thought that was hilarious; I thought to was overkill. People have been congratulating us on buying a new vehicle. "Congratulations" sounds odd to me. Yes, appropriate if we'd had a new grandchild. Yes, appropriate if it was a special wedding anniversary. Congratulations on buying a new vehicle is weird, even though we still said thank you.

My knee replacement surgery is booked in for the first week in September. Of course my doctor wants me to lose as much weight as possible so salads for dinner and only drinking water... no juice, no Pepsi, no coffee/milk/sugar. I told John that I need hypnosis to convince me that water tastes and feels like Pepsi. My salad tonight was wonderful... the water was boring.

Wow Chayote. So much excitement. Love the pic of you and John .
it's been a pretty day mid 50s a little chill but we were working in the yard. Picking up sticks. I hate picking up sticks. Digging up crap lillies I have wanted out forever. They are gone YAY now I can put something pretty there.
I ran to town and got subway. Lol. Neither of us could bite them so it was a knife and fork sandwich.

It was rainy this morning but it has cleared up quite a bit this afternoon, but it’s not particularly warm. It’s only 44° right now. I got up early this morning so that I could get dinner into the Crock Pot and I’ve been reading in between small household tasks. I’m reading the next book club selection, The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng, so far it’s very interesting. I’m still plugging away at the Outlander book, it finally started getting interesting at about page 450 and I’m up to page 704 now. Only 200 more to go! I never take this long to read something and l’ll be so glad to get that one finished.

I’ve got a small pork shoulder roast in the Crock Pot in a Salsa Verde sauce and it smells divine. I’m going to have cilantro lime rice and a small salad with it.

Chayote - Sure it isn't Christmas in Australia with the big red bow - lol. I know you will be totally happy once it gets retrofitted for your scooters. Nothing like the smell of a new vehicle - congratulations.

We have a super busy week coming up. We have 4 houses that are all just about done and need the final cleanings this week so they can get listed. I have dog classes three times this week an eye doctor and dentist appointment. I got all my shopping done for Easter next week. I am taking a lasagna to my MIL and she is making the rest. I have boxes that need packed and I just want to go to bed already.

I made steak hoagies with horseradish sauce. It hit the spot.

Thanks, Rosie... I should be excited about the car but I'm happy that other people are excited for us. I'm more relieved that the search is over. I don't need to look at another car for as long as we drive... Hannah has just learned to give two thumbs up and I wish we had thought to do the same thing in the photo. We were more focussed on holding down the ribbon on the car because it was moving in the breeze...

G'day, Vera... nope, not Christmas. Just a time to say goodbye to a few zeroes in our bank account... *LOL* We haven't even taken it out since we got home with it. Our neighbour probably thinks we have visitors. We needed to move the Caddy out to Julia's house because we live on a busy road and there is no room here for three vehicles. I hope it sells quickly. We gave it a clean inside and it looks almost brand new. It only has 74,000 on the clock.

We will get a lot of use from the scooters. I'll be in hospital for about 5 days so John will be able to ride his scooter from the carpark to my bedside and that will make a huge difference for him coming to visit.
