Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

It's noisey here. Lightning/thunder. Tornado warnings. 72 now with high winds, heavy rain. Going to be a bumpy day and eve. Storms don't scare me BUT... Lightning and tornados do.
we're having fish, fried potatos some sort of veggie. I haven't been baking cause I don't seem to have any sense. Got desperate late last night. Opened a tub of choc icing and a pkg graham crackers.

Crazy thunderstorms happening since 5 a.m., torrential rain, hydro keeps cutting out. I'm back to cleaning, doing dreaded under the kitchen sink cupboard and will wipe down all cupboard doors, clean inside of fridge and call it a day.
Dinner for 2 today, craving pancakes and mini sausages I always seem to like breakfast for dinner on rainy days!

Stay safe everyone on storm watch... I can't imagine how afraid you feel...

I thought about my Dad a lot today. It was his birthday but he never liked anyone making a fuss. He passed many, many years ago but I still miss him.

Dinner tonight as John's favourite crumbed lamb cutlets. He had a baked potato, peas, carrots and onion. I had the same but added a Swiss mushroom. I've given up trying to follow the diet I was given. I never seem to find a balance between carbs, fats, protein and salt. Starting tomorrow I'm just going to reduce the size of my meals and stay off sugar. As I told my doctor, I just need to recover from giving birth to my youngest child. These things take time. I just didn't tell him that my *baby* turned 34 last December...

Chayote today (April 5th) was my mom's b-day. She would have been 103. Is the 5th your dad's bday? She passed in 2012 and I still miss her alot. She was an awesome mom. A kind, generous, gentle humble person.

I’ve been in two tornado warnings in my life, one in South Dakota and one in Indiana. Never saw one, thank goodness, but I will admit to being scared sh**less the entire time. I’ll take Washington’s rain and volcanoes, thanks!

Absolutely beautiful but chilly day today. I’ve been busy today for sure. Went to my dental appointment at 11:30, got all x-rayed and they did a deep cleaning on half of my mouth, I’ll get the other half done tomorrow. It was still reasonably early when I got done so I took my property tax exemption papers to the County Assessor’s office in Everett and dropped them off after making sure I had everything needed and still had enough time to fit in a run to Trader Joe’s for some things I was running out of. The traffic coming back was pretty snarled up but it gave me the opportunity to look out at the Cascade mountains all covered in snow. Simply stunning! The Cascades are really craggy and sharp pointed peaks and they were quite visible today. I never get tired of seeing them. I got home just before 4 pm and I’m kicking off my shoes and relaxing.

I’m going to have a Trader Joe’s Harvest salad (my fave from there, it has chicken, cheese, corn, tomatoes etc and delicious dressing) and I’m having a TJ’s green chile and cheese tamale with it. Yum!!

g'day, rosie... yes, Dad was born on 5th April, 1908. He died aged 72 of war-related injury and illness when I was 23. He worked so hard to raise three daughters but the most amazing thing I remember about him was that he bought a little booklet called "How to Build a House" when he returned from the Middle East at the end of World War 2 and built the house that Mum lived in until she was in her 80s.

I wish I had appreciated Dad's efforts, both as a father and soldier, before he died.

That's a phrase that I've never heard before, Charlene. You've taught me something new today. We say that the traffic was jammed up, or I was caught in a traffic jam. "Snarled up" is new to me but it makes sense. To us, a "snarl" is a tangle like what we find in a cheap ball of yarn or a jewellery chain.

That particular section of Interstate 5 in Everett is a nightmare. Once you get past a couple of major exits it opens up and you can move. Snarled up isn’t commonly used, it’s just my interpretation of that area. I’ve gotten so used to NOT driving in heavy traffic that it doesn’t take much to stress me out on the road.
