Weird day weather wise. 60 this morning temps dropping all day. Swinging between sun and dark clouds. Rain off and on. Closed all the storm windows on the doors. Added another blanket and turned up the heat. Suppose to be 20 by morning. Looks loke roller coaster temps this week.
supper was different too 3 pm still had 0 idea what to cook. I hate when that happens! Ended up frying potatos, cabbage with Italian sausage. Joe said "delightful" so ?? Whatever. So glad he's not picky.
Well, we all had a nice day yesterday, the family altogether, but it was bittersweet. I had received word that my step Dad was not doing well after stroke and had found that he had a blockage in his intestine and the end of his life was drawing very near. This morning we got the call that Don had passed on. He was 92. Had been dealing with leukemia for many years, but thankfully only issues he had was great tiredness, then stroke last wknd.
I did not feel much like cooking today, nor eating...we put some jumbo whistle dogs on the BBQ and will have some leftover salad for dinner.
It’s been rainy, windy and cold today and it looks like it will be that way for the first half of the week. I hope it has some breaks in it because I have a doctor’s appointment Tuesday with a Costco stop afterwards, car service Wednesday and book club on Thursday. Not much else happening today.
I’m going to have more of the Italian sausage and bean cassoulet and some garlic bread for dinner and an Outshine fruit bar for dessert.
This is another morning that is welcome with another sunny sky that will start off beautifully and then we plunge into rain, storms and cold temperatures by this evening. We will go from a high of 79 and then 39 will be the low.
I am solo tonight, and nothing is calling my name so I will wait for an inspiration that sounds tasty.
