    Good Morning!

The snow stopped overnight and this morning we have a weak sun, but it looks like it is clearing up. The high will be 62 and the low of 51.

DGS has said he will make dinner this evening but has not said what. I am positive that whatever he makes it will be delicious.

What will be your dinner this evening?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

Tonights dinner was as close to perfect that I've ever cooked. It turned out 'restaurant quality' and we were so hungry that I completely forgot that I could take a photo. We had two crumbed lamb cutlets each, baked potato, baked pumpkin, John had peas and onion and I had some wilted snow peas. It was amazing.

Chayote, don’t you just love it when you make something that’s so good that it astounds you? Only problem I have when I do it is that I have no desire to dine out because I can do better at home, and it’s a lot cheaper.

It was quite chilly and windy earlier today but it’s turned out to be pretty nice this afternoon. I took my car up to the Subaru dealer in Burlington and got and oil change and safety and brake check this morning, all systems are good, which they should be because I’ve only just turned 35k miles on it. I just wanted to be sure it’s ready for travel next month. After I left there I filled up my tank at Safeway Fuel and saved $1 per gallon with Rewards points. After I got home I started reading, hoping to finish that stupid book by the end of the week. I’ve got 80 pages left.

I’m going to make a Shake & Bake pork chop, some Stovetop Pork Stuffing and some roasted asparagus for my dinner tonight.

Charlene... you've described my meal exactly. Everything was perfect: the pumpkin was dry and sweet, potato cooked perfectly with the tough skin that I love and when I was cooking the cutlets, I didn't leave the stove for a second. Usually I manage to burn one side of them while I get everything else ready. It's not the meat that burns, rather it's the breadcrumbs but last night they were crispy and perfect.

I love dining out because cooking is not my favourite thing to do.

I do enjoy dining out too, but not so much now that I’m alone and on a single income. I enjoy going out with the Stanwood Camano Women’s Club gatherings very much. Fortunately I really enjoy cooking and have been making things I really like that Ken wasn’t fond of, like asparagus, guacamole, and things with lots of green chiles in it. I still enjoy experimenting with new recipes too, keeps me from getting bored in the kitchen.
