  • April 26th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is overcast a the moment with more sun later in the day along with the high of 51 and the low of 34.

Dinner will be easy with a reheat of the chili, making some waffle cornbread and fruit salad/

What will you be dinning on this evening?

Big day today... our Renault van went for the installation of an electric lift and various other grips and steps to make it easier for us to get around. From there we went to the scooter shop and paid for our new scooters. All the work should be finished by Friday of next week.

Dinner tonight was crumbed chicken thighs... John had baked potato, onion and peas; I had lettuce and snow peas

So what happened to your other car ? The one that you had the 3 car collision in, with lots of damage to your car, according to your daughter probably around $10,000 damage. This is all from your post on April 23 .
Damage was not that bad? Car is drivable ?

I have stroganoff going in the crock pot and the rice cooker is doing it thing. I had a bunch of onions and mushrooms to use up so it sounded good. Hubs always says he hates stroganoff because his ex wife made it with hamburger and he thinks thats gross. We have been together for 20 years and he still has that stuck in his head. I mean I like it with hamburger but I use stew meat for his precious taste buds lol.

Beautiful sunny day. "THEY" say it's upper 50s but sure doesn't feel that warm. Low tonight low 30s.
we're having good ol cheeseburgers and mac salad.
I made 2 batches noodles this morn then ran to store for sis and I'm pooped.

Chayote, I meant to ask you if you and John had any delayed effects from your accident. I remember when a truck backed up into me really fast that I didn’t feel bad at the time of the accident, but the next day I was in excruciating pain from a whiplash. It was so bad that it made me nauseous. I had a few weeks of chiropractic treatments before I felt like a whole person again. Whiplash is no joke!

Today was cool and cloudy with a few light sprinkles, sure a lot different than yesterday! Oh well, it’s the PNW and to be expected. I got up reasonably early this morning and made a big Walmart run. I was running very low on cat food, dog food and a bunch of other stuff. I was able to use my United Healthcare Medicare Advantage card to buy 2 big containers of Metamucil with my quarterly credits and didn’t have to pay a dime for it. I would have ordered it online directly from UHC, but it was showing it out of stock. Last quarter I got a really nice safety shower stool for free. That’s a really nice bonus to have.

I’m going to have some of the green chile quiche and some more steamed artichoke for dinner.

Well, what a day this has been! Got a call from hubs Dr first thing this morn to inform him that his blood sugar level was extremely high and she prescribed meds and insulin.....a quick trip in to the diabetes clinic to get him educated, and me! sooooo much info to retain!
Day has been off totally. Dinner is baked chicken breasts, broccoli and rice, hope that's an ok meal. We meet with dietician next week to meal plan etc.

Mudder, that's not a bad meal. We felt overwhelmed when Joe was diagnosed. We bout starved him you'll catch on quick I'm sure. I don't know what's available where you are, aunt millies "light" is pretty good for a low carb bread. Can have 2 slices for same exchange as 1 slice of other bread.

                    Hello all,

Its been a pretty nice day today with the temps in the high 60's.I've not been outside much, mainly have been vegging out inside the house.

For dinner this evening we had chicken fried rice,a chinese marinated cuke & onions salad & for dessert we had strawberry jello w/sliced bananas & mandarin oranges.

It really is convenient having it on the card. My shower seat had to be mail ordered and it took almost a month to get it, but it’s nice to be able to go stock up on things like Metamucil for free ‘cause that stuffs expensive and I need it!

The damage to our Outlander is significant and no, we are not driving it until it's repaired under insurance. I would put up a photo but I wasn't thinking very clearly at the accident site. The car is damaged at the back and to a lesser degree at the front. It's off the road now until the assessor inspects it. My daughter is very good at estimating damage. Yes, it happened on Friday, 23rd April.

We currently own three vehicles. Outlander is off the road... Renault is being modified... VW Caddy is what we are driving now.

Thanks for asking, Charlene. My neck and shoulder on my left side is still painful but the area that hurts has reduced to my neck and one spot about 8cm round on my shoulder is sore if I touch it. Initially the pain was more wide spread. I can also only lift my left arm to shoulder height. It will get better on it's own. Initially my main problem was shock. I couldn't stop shaking for about an hour after impact. The airbags didn't deploy and for that I was very thankful.

I hope the insurance company decide to repair the car because we really like it. The motor wasn't damaged but I'm concerned about the sensors on the back bumper. A friend told me about similar damage to her son's car and it's made me aware that sometimes repairs aren't 100% reliable. We'll just have to wait and see what the assessor says. The car is insured for agreed value of just under $30,000 but to buy the same car again will cost us a lot more than that... Julia is confident that it will be repaired.

Realistically how many cars do you really need after you get your Renault modified ? you don't need 3 cars ?? with just the two of you driving, I would imagine you could make do with just one car, since you seem to go together every where anyway?? You could save on car insurance / gasoline , car maintenance etc. Just a thought.

We want two vehicles. We just hadn't got up to selling the Caddy when the accident happened. However, if we wanted three cars, there's no rules that we can't. There are only two seats in the Renault. We need our car for when we have the children with us.
