  • May 10th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It is hazy looking sky this morning with the high of 70 and the low of 49.

It will be a taco salad dinner along with baked custard.

    What will you be having?

You would think I would know that hitting post is required.
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

We drove to the Doll Hospital today to pick up my two Pedigree dolls that needed some repairs. They look amazing! ...well worth the repair costs. In good condition, these English dolls are worth $400 - $500 and even more if they have hinged knees to sit on a small chair. I have one of those, too... I've been working on my bear Nativity as it will be part of the dolls club's annual Exhibition on 21st. I'm also showing my eight Mickey and Minnie build-a-bears and the Pedigrees.

We were out most of the day but came home for dinner. John wanted sausages and onion in bread; I had chicken and glass noodle salad.

It’s such a pretty day today! We didn’t go to Leavenworth today, Kim woke up with a UTI and needed to get a prescription called in so we decided to wait until tomorrow as she’s feeling much better now. I used to get the same problem when I traveled so I totally get it. We plan on doing it tomorrow. I finished the book I was reading and I’m getting started on the next book club selection, The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.

I’m making Chicken Gloria Casserole tonight along with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach.

Boy did it thunderstorm last evening into the early morning hours!!It was crazy going,I could barely get to sleep because of all of the thunder/lightning!I opened the windows to let it air out & get the breezes,it was so nice.

For dinner we had tuna casserole, pickled beets & cottage cheese.& for dessert the leftover blackberry crisp.

Pretty sunny day. Mid 70s. Guys came 8am and ripped our roof off. YAY there was 3 layers of shingles to be removed and some sheeting to be replaced. We've needed a new roof for several yrs but convincing Joe was almost impossible. They said they'd finish tomorrow. I found it a bit stressful having 6 guys running everywhere but relieved to have a huge job done. Had a hair cut at 4:30 so made some quickie spaghetti and a small salad before I left. Just mixed up some choc chip cookies to offer the guys tomorrow.

From pictures I’ve seen of winter up there it’s truly magical! There will most likely be a lot of snow there too. Before COVID there was a train from Everett to Leavenworth during the holidays but they stopped running it during the shutdown. I’ll check and see if they’re going to have it this year because I really want to take that trip and I’ll let you know about it.

I checked the holiday train prices and they’re VERY pricey, like $200+ dollars per person! Their regular fare for Everett to Leavenworth is right around $20. I don’t think I’ll be doing the holiday train at that price!
