July 24th Dinner Post

Good Morning!

I thought with the rain yesterday afternoon and then again later last night it would clear the haze from the smoke out, but it is still hazy this morning with a partly sunny sky. The high will be a warm 85 and the low of 66. It will get hotter and more humid as the week goes on.

I cooked a roast with onions and garlic along with some herbs I picked in the crockpot overnight so I will use part of it and make some gravy with part of the broth for beef and noodles, garden fresh green beans and watermelon for dinner.

Ugh it is so humid. We start a week of 90+ and humid. I have broccoli/cauliflower left over so thought I'd make some cheesy creamed potatos and salmon patties to go with the veggies.

Woke up to light rain this morning, but it didn’t last long, darn it. It has been a pleasantly cool day today though. I had such a good time last night! The band was really good and I looked up some of the other free shows at the casino and found two so far I want to go to in the next 2 months. One is an Eagles tribute, the other is a Tom Petty tribute. Last night was the first time I’ve been to a casino since we moved up here, but I will go for concerts. I don’t really gamble so that’s not an attraction for me, I took money to play slots but didn’t spend any at all. The smoked salmon salad I had last night was amazing, I’d definitely go back for that. I haven’t accomplished a thing today, slept in way late and felt lazy all day.

I made some carne asada marinade for some flanken ribs and I’m going to cook those and have some cilantro lime rice and some fresh guacamole on the side.
