August 25th Dinner Post

Good Morning!

Holy Moley what a night of thunder so loud it made one jump, lightning so bright and cracking when it would strike, torrential downpours, one after another and let's not forget the tornado alerts, one after another for seeking lower levels immediately. This went on for hours finally ending around 3-4 this morning and starting around 11 last night. It is overcast with more rain predicted along with the high of 80 and the low of 65. If I thought I could get a permit I seriously would think of building an ark before I get washed away from all this rain. Thankfully my house in on a hill so getting flooded out is not a major concern but scary nonetheless.

Dinner will BLTS, and a fruit salad.

It was really gray and cloudy this morning but it has cleared up this afternoon. It’s about 75° now, going up to 78° between 4 and 6 pm. I just did some minor tidying up today and I’ve been doing some reading too, I highly recommend the book One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd by Jim Fergus, it’s really good. Not much else happening.

I’m trying out a recipe for Artichoke Pie (kind of like a quiche) and I took some smoked tri-tip slices out of the freezer to have with it. I’ll post the recipe after dinner if it come out good.

A tornado touched down by my MIL house so her power was out since last night. She came over for the day and just left since her power finally got restored. I had to rotate the dogs in and out of the basement since they still are not allowed to play with each other yet and I didnt want them to bump into the MIL. Both of them were freaking out over her cane for some reason. I am just glad today is over. The kids all came over and we had KFC.

We spent the day with Andrew and Hannah. It was a pleasant day and as usual, the children provided a lot of entertainment. I'm very tired tonight and will be going to bed as soon as I finish posting.

We found out today that we are finally getting our car back on 8th September. We had an accident (not our fault) about three months ago but there's a serious shortage of smash repairers in South Australia. It will be good to have our Outlander back so we can sell the VW Caddy.

We came home for dinner tonight. We had air-fried chicken, pumpkin, peas and carrot.
