September 4th Dinner Post

Good Morning!

It is a mostly sunny sky on this Labor Day with hot weather for a holiday known for heading for the beach or pool. The high will be a hot high of 90 and the low of 70. It is getting more humid, and it is just weather for staying inside if possible.

DGS has requested a banana split for dinner and I told him he could make one as big as he wants as there is lots of fruit and ice cream. Sometimes it is just necessary reverting back into childhood mode!

Scorcher of a day here! We just got back from the cottage and I'm going to hang out at our lake this aft. Dinner will be BBQ'd jerk chicken, taters from the garden and corn on the cob.

Happy Labor Day! It’s been nice today, temperatures in the low to mid 60’s all day, NICE! I spent some time on the phone with my sister and my cousin, we’re all set for a get together in October in Concord CA. The flights my sister and I are taking to Oakland are scheduled to arrive at the same time and our departure times are 20 minutes apart, we’ll meet there and get one rental car. We’ve both got our hotel rooms booked and I reserved my parking place at SeaTac too. I’m opting for the pricey terminal parking because I only need to cross one skybridge that goes directly into the terminal and I won’t need to schlep around unknown areas of Seattle in the dark when I get back. Some of those offsite parking lots would make me nervous in the dark. We’re all really looking forward to this!

I’m going to make a small ribeye steak for myself tonight. I put seasoning on it yesterday and I’m going to do the quick sear in a screaming hot cast iron pan and then put it in the oven for a few minutes to finish it up. I baked some sweet potatoes earlier so I’ll have one of those and I’ll have some green beans with it.

Nice day today. I went to my daughters for Barbecue. I am happy to be home now with my dog. I made myself a cup of coffee and have some iced tea made for later. I think I will relax and read this evening.
