  • September 14th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

It will be a chilly day with the high of 68 and the low of 49. With a mostly sunny sky.

Well, if it will be chilly today then we will have chili for dinner!!!!!!!! Cornbread waffles and baked apples will complete dinner.

    What are you having tonight?

But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

We went to the local pub for dinner tonight. I didn't want to cook the night before going to hospital. I had battered flathead with seasoned mash and salad. John had roast pork (of course). We also bought a serving of battered onion rings. I felt like dessert so I ordered a bowl of mango sorbet and raspberry sorbet. They were the highlight of my meal.

I'm going to bed very soon but I doubt that I'll sleep. I'm not stressing about the surgery tomorrow but at the same time, I'm not looking forward to it. I just feel very flat and I wish John would stop telling me to go and pack my bag. The car picking me up won't be here for six and a half hours! I have enough time. I've had surgeries before but this will be the first time that I've been awake. Plenty of people my age have this surgery so no doubt I'll be able to suck up the fear and just do whatever they tell me to do.

I'll post again when I get home.

Chayote, I do hope you won’t be awake for the surgery! If that’s the case you’re way braver than I’d ever be! Wishing you all the best for speedy recovery.

It’s another beautiful day today, clear and gorgeous. I’ve been taking it easy today, not much needed to be done around the house. I’m reading a really interesting non-fiction book right now, The Spy and The Traitor by Ben Macintyre. It goes into all the tradecraft about a Russian KGB officer that was very successfully spying for British MI6. Fascinating!

I’m going to meet up with the ladies group this evening and have dinner at Pat’s Thai Shabu and then we’re going to go see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 afterwards. Should be a fun evening!

I agree with you Charlene, I sure hope she wont be awake for her knee replacement surgery. I have not had that kind of surgery myself ,but I have friends who had it and nobody was awake.
But then maybe she doesn't have a knee replacement surgery, maybe it is just a arthroscopic knee surgery, like a repair type surgery. I don't remember her ever posting that it was a replacement surgery.
And it won't be a speedy recovery if it is a replacement surgery.

I just got given my phone. I had a complete knee replacement and yes I was awake. I was given a spinal block and felt no pain. I did feel movement and pressure. Tonight I'm in the critical care unit on oxygen. My oxygen sats are low and I'm having a mild reaction to the morphine. I feel very hot and itchy but have been treated for it.

I don't know if I can make this work from my phone. The inscission is about 9" long. My whole leg is numb and will be for a couple of days. To be honest, it might have been more manageable if I wasn't so stressed. When it's John's turn I can tell him what will happen. He will also be having a spinal block

Chayote - You are braver than I would be. Aren't you glad this is now behind you, and you can concentrate on rehabilitation and healing. you waited a long time and maybe you can join Riverdance - lol.

Chayote. Like Charlene you are much braver than me to be awake. I'm relieved it's done and after healing/rehab you'll be feeling so much better. Prayers for speedy recovery.

Thank you, but I'm not bu brave. I cried like a baby! The doctors were amazing and kind. The worst part was getting the injection in my spine to have the spinal block. It took a mere 90 seconds to go from pain to numb but it was the longest 90 seconds of my·life. John will easily 'out brave' me.
