Great for fondue, but can also be used for a tempura dinner. You can tempura things like shrimp, chicken chunks, onion rings, zucchini sticks, parboiled sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, and carrot sticks.

    **TEMPURA BATTER**

    2/3 cup ice water
    1/2 cup cornstarch
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon white sugar
2 teaspoons oil or melted shortening
    1 teaspoon baking powder

In a medium bowl, mix together all ingredients. Dip food in batter then fry in oil.
Working...
