I've made a crabmeat spread for years. I have to make a double batch when one of the girls is here, so she can take some home with her. Another made it for a party at work, and now it is THE REQUEST anytime there's a party.
CRABMEAT SPREAD
1/2 pkg imitation crab, freeze other half.
2 pkgs. cream cheese, room temperature
3 T Mayo or salad dressing
2 T soy sauce
1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped.
3 green onions, tops and all, chopped
Chopped walnuts
parsley flakes
Mix the cream cheese, mayo, and soy sauce. Break up the crab and add with the green onions, and water chestnuts.
Shape into a log and sprinkle with walnuts and parsley flakes.......or put into a pretty dish and sprinkle with walnuts and parsley flakes.
Serve with crackers. Refrigerate for a couple of hours to blend flavors.
