1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup water
1 egg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon oil.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the water, egg lemon juice and oil. Mix well.
Slice onions and soak in ice water for 30 minutes. Drain on paper towel.
Dip sliced onions into batter and deep fry.
This also works well with mushrooms.
