My husband and I like to drink hot tea, cocoa, or coffee in the winter evenings, but with summer coming we don't want hot drinks. Does anyone have any recipes for non-alcoholic, cool, refreshing drinks? Thanks in advance!

    This one looks interesting

    Brazilian Lemonade

    2 lemons
    1/2 cup sugar
    3 tbs condensed milk
    3 cups water
    Ice

    PREPARATION:
Slice off the ends of the lemons, then cut into wedges. Put lemon and the other ingredients in a blender and blend until liquified. Strain out pieces of rind and seeds, and serve over ice.

    Here is one more

    Green Apple Lemonade

3 green apples, peeled and cored
    Juice from 2 lemons
    1 tbs sugar
    1 cup cold water

    PREPARATION:
Use a juicer to extract the juice from the green apples (Granny Smith are excellent). Combine apple and lemon juice, sugar and water. Stir well. Serve lemonade over ice.

How about iced tea? We drink that year-round.

I will often keep the "Punch for a Bunch" on hand in small zipper bags, just to make a couple drinks for the family on a hot evening. It's not too sweet and very refreshing.

                    ** Punch for a Bunch **
--modified from a Southern Living recipe

                    1 gallon water, divided
                    3 cups sugar
                    2 cups lemon juice
1 (12 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed and undiluted
1 (46 oz. can) unsweetened pineapple juice
4 (1 quart) bottles ginger ale, chilled

Combine 8 cups (hot) water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Sin in remaining 8 cups (cool) water and fruit juices. Cover and freeze overnight, stirring juice mixture at least twice during freezing process. (I usually freeze mix in a zipper bag so I can just mush it to mix it.) Remove from freezer about an hour before serving. Break into chunks; add ginger ale, and stir until slushy. Enjoy! Makes 10 quarts.

I usually have an extra bottle or two of ginger ale on hand, in case more liquid is needed to balance the slush.

1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade thawed & undiluted
5 ½ cups club soda, chilled
                    Garnish w/ fresh lemon slices

                    ** Old-Fashioned Lemonade **

                    2 cups lemon juice
                    2 cups sugar

In a one-gallon pitcher, add lemon juice and sugar, then add enough water to reach the 1-gallon mark. Stir well. You can float lemon slices in the pitcher or in each glass for garnish. Serve over ice.

                      Sangria

                      Juice {we used two types}
                      Soda {Sprite, Squirt, 7up, etc...}
Variety of your favorite fruits, sliced
                      Ice

Put your sliced up fruits in with the juice, let sit in the sun then add in soda and ice and serve. YUM!

I'll even add one to this great list...............Red Lobster makes a Boston Iced Tea and I just love it.

All I do is take 3/4 of a glass of strong iced tea and add some cranberry juice to fill to the top. Add a orange wedge and voila...........this is very good and refreshing.

RASPBERRY LEMONADE---Mine is similar to one posted on the first page. The juice from about 12 lemons, 1 pack of frozen or fresh raspberries-squeeze juice through strainer so seeds don't get in pitcher. Use a 1 gallon pitcher--put in lemon & raspberry juice along with 2 cups sugar and enough water to fill--stir and enjoy. It is my favorite and I am not big on fruit drinks.
