Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Pie
1 nine inch unbaked pie crust
6 medium siized cooking apples
1 cup of thick sour cream
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons flour
Sprinkle a tablespoon of flour over the crust with 1 tablespoon sugar.
Line crust with the apples which have been peeled and cored and cut into quarters or smaller pieces, sprinkle with the salt and cinnamon, the rest of sugar and flour. Now cover with the thick sour cream. Bake first 15 minutes in a 425 degree oven, lower heat to 350 degrees and bake until apples are tender. Mellow apples are best. the sour cream forms a delicious custard
