Millionairs Shortbread
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 can condensed milk
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
Mix 1 cup butter, flour and sugar until it's in small crumbs.
Press into a greased 15"x10" pan.
Bake at 350 (preheated) for 18-20 minutes.
Stir together remaining 1/2 cup butter, condensed milk, and syrup in a pan.
Heat until butter is melted and blended.
Add brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly, 25-30 minutes, or until caramel colored and thickened.
Pour evenly over baked crust and spread.
Chill 30 minutes or until set.
Melt chocolate chips and spread over caramel layer.
Chill until chocolate is set.
Cut into squares.
NOTE:
Best to score the cutting lines before the chocolate is cold.
